First of all, I have to say the food was fantastic. I love it. This is the best Thai foods I've ever had. BUT... this is an upscale restaurant and service was horrible. I had dinner with my friend. I came 15 minutes early. I was waiting for my friend about 30 minutes and no server ever stopped by to check on me or asked me if I needed a cup of water. That wasn't supposed to happened in an upscale restaurant. Not to mention, they didn't even give me the drink menu. When we were ready to order, the waitress was not very happy to take my order or at least she made me feel that way. She did not smile, and answer my friend's questions very general. I expected to see that kind of service on street side stores, not in a restaurant. After we finished our dinner, it was early for the movie, so we decided to stay in the restaurant. During our talking time, server stopped by many times to refill water but never asked if they could take away dirty plates.
I've been working the restaurant industry for more than 7 years and never see any upscale restaurant with that horrible service. The whole waiting staff needs to be replaced or fully re-trained if the restaurant really cares...
Read moreGood food and careful service. Visited today 05/10/23, and they had some 'artists' outside doing some ...'work'?. All outdoor seating was 'unavailable' as the 'artists' were busy on their phones playing games and paying customers were less important. The manager did not like my honest opinion of the hard working artists and proceeded to complain to his 'security'...staff that I did not appreciate his 'attitude'....where the customer is always wrong....! and I asked him.... He may defend ...but I had to force his artists to make way for me to sit and eat ... I will never recommend or visit ever again!
The response from management is defamatory and incorrect - their statement on my sobriety is baseless and clearly made to defend the lack of awareness of the need to meet customer needs or preference. I have visited the restaurant 3 times over the past 30+ days and always sit outdoors. The "artists" were not working at the time I arrived and No Offer was made for me to sit eslewhere outdoors! The fact that these "artists" commandeered the entire area and all tables and chairs with their personal bags and some equipment was...
Read moreA very solid and mid-priced attempt at a Thai restaurant in District 7. Food fresh and well served but definitely 'localised' (i.e Less spicy, sweeter) and including some inauthentic 'Thai' dishes. I would love to see Nathalie's waitstaff give the option for customers to have 'Thai style' (i.e More authentically cooked) like Golden Elephant and Bangkok Kitchen offer. Also, a sure sign that this place is not authentic Thai is the sight of chopsticks on the table. Thai's do not use chopsticks traditionally- they eat with a fork and spoon. Also, no acknowledgement of HM The King and HM The Queen- a sure sign that the place is not Thai run. However, the food was tasty and hot and quickly served the waitstaff friendly and accommodating. I just wish they would honour the food with more authentic Thai style and also make it feel Thai inside (play Thai music, honour the Royal family) and also have a wider selection of Thai beers on draft (Singha, Chang Draught) as well as Thai Whisky served by the table with mixers as is common in Thailand. Definitely worth a visit but expect Vietnamese Thai rather...
