Just had a great and not great experience at Phatcat. We were enjoying our drinks and the really good food. We had the Steak Special meal for 200K for dinner, but about 2 hours before, we were having a few drinks during the Happy Hour. The thing that upset me is that our happy hour drinks were fully charged because "they are not compatible with other specials." So the happy hour special was cancelled out by our meal special that we had much later in the evening. This was not expressed and we only found out when the bill came, there is a small note at the bottom of the drinks menu in tiny text that is very vague. It was more irritating later when it was visible we were upset and a guy named "Phil" came up and said that this whole thing was news to him too and he "just worked there." This made me furious as he tried to defuse the situation and I found this completely unacceptable. All the while telling us to "come back for the steak special again because it's such a great deal and just to make ourselves known to him and we would work something out." He was friendly, but I find this incredibly unprofessional and antagonizing. Happy with the food and drink, very unhappy with...
Read moreThird time here this week and a quarter way through some Poutine I remembered I should leave a review. The lunch specials are good and varied. The service is great, always a gentlemen waiting at the door that’s polite and caring. The food has been excellent. The fried tofu burger was better than many fried chicken burgers I’ve had but what really wowed me was the pulled tofu burger. The texture and taste are so good I craved it more than meat based ones. What really tops the place off is the ambience. This could be a divey dark place but instead comes off like a Chicago penthouse filled with plants, light and wicker furniture.
My only improvement would be a request to double fry the fries. Having had fries in Belgium I compare them to that. The crispness and texture are on another level. The ones here are 7/10 and vary in quality.
The entrance is up the stairs next to the window of the barber shop. First sliding glass door is the entrance. Small table on the patio...
Read moreUpdate: they have moved to D2 for a while lol. The Phat Phuc double cheese burger is my fav. However, I would recommend to come at Happy Hours as I prefer the smaller dish size, price is 99k which is value for money. Also D2 location is tiny though.
Edit: they move to D4 now and the new place is much cooler brighter and airy. The hamburgers are amazing still
The place is quite and pretty dark, it takes such a long time for food to be served today but I guess it is understandable due to the social distancing situation. Apart from that, their burgers are AMAZING. The meat is juicy and tender and goes really well with cheese, the buns are so soft. I especially love the sauce. To me the portion is quite big, I shared half the fries so i could finish the burger....
