I've had the opportunity to dine at Pho Thin twice, and my experiences were quite diverse. It's always refreshing to encounter a pho restaurant that takes a unique approach to aspects like service and ingredients. On both visits, I opted for the same dish: pho chien phong, featuring puffy fried pho noodles with stir-fried beef, one of my favorites in Vietnam.
During my first visit, the food was exceptional, and everything was nearly perfect, except for the presence of a few stray hairs in my food (a neutral point). One drawback to outdoor seating, however, was the occasional mosquito bite (another neutral point).
On my second visit, I noticed that the fried noodles seemed a bit rushed, and they didn't taste as delicious as the first time (-1 point for inconsistency). Additionally, I encountered hair in my food once again (-1 point).
The sugarcane tea (nuoc mia) was average. I would like to extend special commendation to the staff for their guidance on service flow and their extra attentiveness during my second visit.
Overall, it was a decent experience. However, with the vibrant restaurant scene in Ho Chi Minh City, I believe there's still much more to explore, so I may not be inclined to return...
I came here with my family on Sunday morning, the restaurant was quite crowded.
The pho flavor at Pho Thin by Sol is quite suitable for me and my family. The clear pho broth blends with the aroma of pho noodles and onions. The fried dough is crispy and not hard, my baby also loves it. On the menu there are also fried pho dishes, mixed pho and pho rolls. I have tried the dishes in District 1 but that day I arrived early before 10:00 so I have not been served these dishes at the District 2 facility. I will try it out.
The outdoor space of the restaurant is quite large and airy, with a spacious garden with shade of green trees. Inside there is an air-conditioned room, but it's a bit dark.
The staff is quite enthusiastic, but on weekend mornings, the restaurant was crowded so service was slow, but my family still waited patiently.
But there is one point the restaurant needs to note, I think not too many customers can sympathize with this situation: the last-arrived table is first served, so this point the restaurant needs to pay attention to improve bill arrangement and other services to serve properly.
The restaurant has parking in front of the gate for both cars...
Read moreI’m a regular here, but today i’m totally disappointed about the restaurant. The broth is very salty, and when we say it to the associate manager - named Tâm, he just ignores it. And worse than that, he takes the spice-and-toothpick stray away of our table without a say even when we haven’t finished our meal yet. I even have to ask for the toothpick and he picks the stray from another table (which makes that table’s guests ask for the toothpick later on). And when we confront him about it, he doesn’t even apologize but just says “i think u finish the meal”. What the hell is that? So unprofessional. Even a normal waiter here has the courtesy to ask us “May we clean the table” when we...
