Shamoji Robata Yaki - Japanese Izakaya — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Ordered 8 dishes, 2 of them was not made... Still end up in the bill. We asked for bill but they didn't even let us see the bill before paying and straight up invite us to the counter to pay with receipt printed... We have a membership card with the same chain with 15% discount... They didn't bother to ask for the membership card and also didn't even bother to ask us to check the bill one last time before payment... Utterly ridiculous as this is not the first time I'm eating here.. same problems happened before and we told them many times over.

Overall, the food was alright, although they have a lot of missing items and food that weren't available.. it atmosphere and food were enjoyable. The service was what killed the authenticity of the Japanese vibe where their hospitality is not even up to standard for the price of the Service cost that we have to pay for.

Come here if you have no other Japanese place to go too or just want to try it at least 1 time in your life... This place is pathetically a waste of money and i just hope they take the customer feedbacks more serious and...

Went back to Shamoji and food had been so so. My wife and I had the eggplant ( 2/5), grilled Saba (2/5), Saba salad (3/5), egg fish (2/5,) Onigiri (1/5), grilled abalone with butter and garlic (1/5 - the chef did not even remove the poop sacs), etc. the over all good was acceptable though I feel lower in quality/cooking than the last time I was there. However, the worst part was the service. Our food took more than half an hour to start arriving. While follow up by the waiters seem non-existent. This, despite the resto being at only 40% capacity. I could feel there was almost zero coordination between the staff and the 3 chefs (who were all seemingly disorganized as well). My wife said she doesn’t want to return to this resto anymore. The other Izakaya restos that are closer to standard are Ebisu (Chu Mạnh Trinh Street D1) and Izakaya 10 along Lê Thanh Ton Street D1. Am sure there are...

🍜🍲🍚 Pretty good considering that they just opened! There are a lot of new, younger staff members, so you should be patient when giving and receiving your order. Ours took some time and there were a few errors but it was sorted out.

🍱 The food was good. A few dishes were better than others. I really recommend the garlic butter clams. It was delicious and warm. The miso soup was alright. The meat sticks were good.

Just a warning that your bill will be higher. ☠️ We were charged basically 23% in TAX: 5 for service, 8 for VAT, and another 10 for a different VAT. Our bill was nearly 760k...
