Seaweed Food — Restaurant in Hue City

This place has some of the best food I’ve had in Vietnam. I loved it - fresh and light and tasty. Came back the next day. Easy to communicate, etc.

The mung bean dumplings appear to be vegan, but do check! I enjoyed them and had them both times. They’re quite delicate in flavour but rich in texture.

For the rest I stuck to seafood and loved both the seaweed soup with (normal) shrimp, and the Hue seasonal jellyfish salad. Interesting to have jellyfish (raw). Like jellyfied seawater.

The service was lovely too - whether I got the sister who spoke English (extroverted and wonderfully positive energy) or the one who didn’t (she’s shier & super sweet, be kind!).

Just note, don’t order takeaway from them on Grab. It’s not proper representation of them, their menu or prices, and they can’t serve you! I got my money back - just saving you (and the poor grab driver) the time. I do think they do delivery/takeout as I’ve seen them prepping and handing out meals. Simple but tasty, original, light dishes (perfect for the hot weather) at a really fair price. We had dishes with oysters. jellyfish, crab meat, duck and homemade noodles (try the "special" ones!), broth that really reminds you of the sea, and multi-colored dumplings with prawns. The lemonades they make are all delicious, too. Loved this place so much that we went twice during our 3-day visit of Hue. If you are staying near the Imperial City in Hue then take in the Seaweed Food restaurant. No more than 8 tables but proper authentic Vietnamese food cooked with love by the ladies.

We ate a mix of seafood spring rolls, shrimp wrapped in leaves, shrimp and crab broth with seaweed and jellyfish with noodles - all amazing washed down with bottled beer.
