I am sorry I won’t even try to be objective this time. There is one thing I almost never do, give 5 stars for a restaurant. In the other hand there arebcertain thigs that I do and never experience others do it. Here today two if these things happenned… I asked for recommendation for the food and I got good advice. When I started to ask further questions she just told me to just order it and if I don’t like it I don’t have to pay for it. That’s one. Then I got my coffee in a setup that I have never seen anybody do other than myself. The whole dipping setup was in a bowl of hot water so that the coffee doesn’t get cold while it is dipping. I am still smiling. Made my day!

Let me first say, the service was excellent- some of the best we’ve had in Vietnam. Unfortunately, the good stuff ends there. Not sure how this place has gotten so many 5star reviews, but our experience with the food was quite disappointing. The spring rolls and stir-fried chicken with vegetables were over-black-peppered, the white rice was hard/dry. The pork pho was decent. The coconut coffee tasted weird, like some chemicals or something processed was in it? Compared to the coconut coffee from Cong Cafe and other places it pales in comparison. Couldn’t stomach to finish it. Maybe it was an off-night, maybe my PNW tastebuds are just hella sensitive, but this food was some of the lowest we had while traveling through the country. I hate to be harsh, and, I think it’s good to call out when something is lacking. Our service really was excellent, but compared to the food we had in Sa Pa, Hanoi, and especially Hoi An (the best food of our entire trip), this was a bummer meal to end our trip on.

We had lunch at An Tâm Cốc Restaurant & Coffee and ordered the iced coconut coffee and mango smoothie. Both drinks were delicious, but the mango smoothie really stood out. We also tried the beef phở and a beef xào with rice, and I particularly enjoyed the beef phở. Sitting at a table facing the street was a nice touch; it was great to watch people walk by. While the restaurant had a touristy vibe, like many in the area, the quality of the food was still impressive. We returned to An Tâm Cốc Restaurant & Coffee for breakfast but it was not as great as our lunch experience. We had the mango crepes and they were pretty basic. Just go for their Viet food 😛

Came here 3 times in 2 days - says a lot for a short stay in Ninh Binh! Food was amazing and in large portions. The beef with morning glory and beef fried rice was cooked to perfection. Truly tasted like home cooked meals here! Coconut coffee and hot cocoa is definitely a must try! Lady boss is efficient and takes good care of her staff by triaging the orders and being clear of waiting times to new customers. Excellent service standards by far! Crepes are outstanding and if not for the noisy streets outside, I’d have thought I was back in Paris! Definitely worth the waiting time during their peak dinner time - don’t give this place a miss!

Found this place on Google as it was highly rated. Nice ambience with relaxing music. Staff were friendly. Food portion was also good. We ordered the pork fried rice noodles, fresh spring rolls, papaya salad with tofu, mango smoothie and cappuccino. However, the fried rice noodles were salty and the sauce for the spring rolls were not the best. Someone reviewed above, food in Sapa was amazing and I second it! Although food portion and pricing was good, it should not have been listed as the 10 must visit Tam Coc restaurants. Hopefully we won't get sick either! After having read some negative reviews for their fried dishes.

The servers are kind and the restaurant is nice inside, but it baffles me that this restaurant is rated 5.0 given the quality of the food (at dinner, I did not have their breakfast or coffee). Just FYI, this restaurant gets the most tourists of any in Ninh Bình, given their high rating here on Google maps. However, I just want to caution you that the food is not authentic/comparable to the local restaurants on this street. I understand that this place is designed for tourists, but my party felt that the taste of the food was inferior to almost every place we ate at in our two weeks traveling through Vietnam.
