I’m writing this review out of anger. First of all, the hotel itself is quite good—the staff are friendly, the room is spacious, and the omelette at breakfast is delicious. However, the lighting in the room is a bit dim, not as appealing as the photos on Booking.com, making it feel like an older hotel (though it feels better during the day when sunlight streams in).
At check-in, the reception staff asked about our itinerary and suggested that we book transportation through them. It was clear that they were trying to sell this service, from before we even arrived at the hotel, during check-in, and even as we were about to leave for the sights. I understand this is part of their marketing strategy, so I didn’t mind too much and even booked their transfer service from Ninh Binh to Hanoi.
However, the driver they arranged for us was incredibly unsafe! He repeatedly used his phone to chat while driving, taking his eyes off the road, and there were even moments where he used his phone with both hands off the steering wheel (this happened on the highway too!). The first part of the journey from Ninh Binh to Hanoi is filled with large trucks and sand lorries. At one point, a truck in front of us on the right was trying to merge into our lane while our driver was busy chatting on his phone, not even looking at the road. I was terrified at that moment.
When we finally arrived at the hotel in Hanoi, he even asked us for a tip. We initially didn’t want to give him one due to all the reasons mentioned above, but he kept insisting, making it feel like we couldn’t leave without giving a tip. In the end, we still gave him a tip. :(
I don’t understand why the hotel would partner with such a reckless driver. Throughout the ride back to Hanoi, I was constantly worried about our safety. Even though we were exhausted after a full day of sightseeing, I didn’t dare close my eyes to rest. We’ve been in Vietnam for 10 days, used many different drivers, and this was by far the worst one—completely disregarding passenger safety.
To ensure the safety of future guests, I strongly advise against using their transfer service. You might end up with a driver like ours, putting your life at risk.
Ninh Binh is a beautiful place, and I may return in the future, but I will never stay at this hotel again. This experience left me shaken.
P.S. I wrote this review while on the way from Ninh Binh to Hanoi because I didn’t dare sleep...

If you are looking for a wonderful and kind service, quite and peaceful surroundings, clean and spacious rooms, beautiful landscapes and a lot of places to visit around - then this hotel, in my personal opinion, is one of THE BEST hotels you will find in the whole Vietnam.
The breakfast was really extensive and varied, also with a lot of fruit and drinks. You are kindly served during your breakfast.
We had our room cleaned every day. The wireless internet speed is optic fiber with about 80/80 mbps. Very fast and really stable for daily meetings and remote work.
The hotel is located in the middle of the tourist area, with a lot of restaurants and attractions nearby. Also a free bicycle rent is available in front of the hotel 24/7.
Also an amazing pool is available behind the hotel, free of charge, so give it a try during dry and hot days in Tam Coc.
And finally, I am definitely leaving 10 stars to this hotel because of a WONDERFUL service, especially the hotel manager named - Phuc. He really helped us finding all attractions around, and was always there to help. He also arranged us a limousine from the hotel to Hanoi.
I will definitely come to this place again and would recommend it to everyone!

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Tam Coc Holiday Villa for three nights, and I must say, it was a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and eager to help us plan our stay. They recommended some great places to visit and even organised pick-ups and transfers for us, which made our time in Tam Coc so much easier.
I was happy to see they offered a reasonably priced laundry service. At just 45k VND per kg, we were able to get our clothes cleaned and folded within 24 hours, which was really convenient for us. It's the small details like this that really make a difference in a hotel stay.
The pool area was another highlight of our stay. Surrounded by lush green plants and a fish pond, it was a peaceful oasis after a hectic few days in Hanoi. Unfortunately, the pool was too cold to swim in during our April visit, but we still enjoyed relaxing by the side.
As for the rooms, they were kept to a very high standard and felt similar to a 4/5 star hotel in Europe. The attention to detail was evident, and we appreciated the comfortable beds and spacious layout.
Overall, I would highly recommend Tam Coc Holiday Villa to anyone looking for a great value, high quality hotel in Tam Coc. The staff, amenities, and overall experience were fantastic, and I'm so glad we chose this hotel...
