I came here for breakfast and dinner and both times left full and satisfied.
For breakfast I ordered a: Banh mt dac biet (most extensive banh mi), a coconut coffee and an avocado shake (no sugar).
The sandwich was tasty, had plenty of ingredients and was cripsy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The lady asked me if I liked spicy and coriander and I commented: Yes!. However I couldn't taste any spice on the banh mi and am not a fan of the sweet chilli sauces they have on the table. The coconut coffee was the best I have had so far! Rich in flavour, fresh coconut on top and with extra coffee on the side to have your wished amount of caffeine. Avocado smoothie was of average quality, I recommend going with the Mango or another fruity one.
For dinner I ordered the: fried beef rice noodle, fresh coconut and the beef summer rolls to share with my friends.
The fried noodle dish was huge and flavourful. I did however ask for fresh chilli's to add to the dish and they happily provided me with that. The coconut was nice and cold and the fresh spring rolls were very tasty and well stocked with ingredients. They did however fall apart the moment you picked them up.
The service of this restaurant is quick and kind and one lady speaks good English in case of any requests. They also have quite an extensive menu and loads of vegetarian options!
I highly recommend going here over many of the places on...
Read moreI had a pretty good experience here. Food portions here are generally large. The staff are welcoming, and you have the option to sit inside the shop or outside if you prefer to do people watching. I got myself a mango smoothie (40K) to cool off and this was pretty good. I also got myself a Bun Cha (70K). The meat patties were small and round, which is different from what I'm used to in Hanoi. But it generally made eating much easier since they were bite-sized. The bowl was also chock-full of vegetables. I also got the spring rolls (75K for 6) which were well-fried and the vegetables inside were still crunchy. Definitely would recommend this place. In fact, the restaurant got a lot more crowded at 12 noon, so drop by earlier if you wish to avoid the crowd.
Edit: I came back for lunch the very next day at close to 2pm, and they were still pretty busy. I got the grilled chicken banh mi (30K), which was filled with chicken meat. When the server asks if you want it spicy, all they're doing is adding chilli sauce, which isn't very spicy. I thought there could have been more vegetables in there for better balance. I also got the rice rolls filled with chicken and vegetables (60K). This was filled with a lot more vegetables and was...
Read moreEDIT: Unfortunately this place lost a bit of its glory. The pho now is very simple and not spectacular anymore. The prices are a bit on the high side, but on the plus side: you can pay with card. The portions are still big and it’s all ok… just not great like it used to be. A lot has changed in Tam Coc unfortunately…
Great place for food! Had an amazing phở bò here (beef noodle soup)! Loved the savoury broth with bits of tomato and chives. Took some red peppers 🌶 from my friend to spice up my broth - be careful, these peppers load a kick!
My friend had the goat noodle soup which had pineapple in it (so if you don’t like pineapple know that it is there).
The portions are quite huge. I think I could only finish 60% and my friend maybe 80%. It was super tasty so would order again.
The drinks is the only thing where I deducted a star. They were very sweet and had little fruit juice (fresh lemon and passion fruit juice).
Little unasked advise: you could put the passion fruit pulp in the blender, blend 3 seconds, than put through a sieve. After you can sweeten the way you like. This way you get a lot more juice that is easy to drinks for tourists. Maybe something to try.
Thank you anyway for receiving us on...
