We had a truly wonderful experience at Dung Chef Restaurant in Trang An. The setting itself is captivating, as the restaurant overlooks beautiful rice paddies, from which the rice served in the menu is sourced. The meal consists of several tastings, and each dish is made with locally sourced ingredients.
For example, the tea is prepared using fresh leaves picked during the meal by Chef Dzo, creating a uniquely fresh and authentic flavor. The pork spring rolls are made with local pork, and the leaves used to wrap the rolls are hand-picked from the garden right in front of you, giving a special touch to the dish. The fish is caught from the nearby lake, and the family even makes their own banana liquor, which they explain is carefully brewed over four months.
Every element of the meal is crafted by the family, which adds a personal and authentic touch to the entire experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and were very satisfied with both the quality of the food and the welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic Vietnamese...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this restaurant on google maps and went because it was 5min walking from our hostel. We sat down and the woman who cooks all the food asked if we wanted to eat and if we ate meat. She gave us hot tea (“good for the stomach”) and came back 20min later with a tray of honestly the best food I’ve eaten in any city EVER. The tea leaves come from a tree in the yard, all the vegetables are grown in the garden next to the tables, the fish was caught that day from the river, I think by someone she knew.. It was all extremely authentic and delicious. it was dark so we came back the next day again for lunch, only to find the views were incredible! She hand picked a grapefruit from a tree in her yard and opened it for us... it was like nothing I’ve ever tasted. She hugged us when we left and asked for a photo so she could remember us. She kept saying “Never say goodbye!” Clearly, I’m obsessed. GO HERE and experience this beautiful place, lovely family, and fresh, authentic,...
Read moreIf you're looking to enjoy a meal surrounded by nature, this restaurant in Ninh Binh offers a serene setting that is hard to beat. The views are absolutely stunning, with the surrounding greenery and towering peaks creating a peaceful ambiance that makes the dining experience more memorable.
However, when it comes to the food, things aren't as impressive. The food wasn’t bad, but it didn’t stand out in any way. The portions were decent, but the dishes lacked that special touch or bold flavors that one might expect in such a beautiful location.
In short, this restaurant is perfect if you're looking to relax and take in the breathtaking views of the Ninh Binh mountains, but if you're hoping for a culinary experience to match the scenery, you might be a bit disappointed. Still, it's a good spot for those who want to unwind in...
