We stumbled across Forest Sunset bar during & restaurant on our first ever bike ride together in our 7 years together.. We were welcomed by Hong the owner she is very attentive to your every need ☺️ We had a beer over looking the grass fields watching the lady shepherdesses.. We decided to stay & have a bit to eat as it was such an amazing place 🤩 when we decide to go our homestay we went to Hong to pay 💰 her son was sitting a massage chair & I ask questions about the chair where next minute I was welcomed to a 15 full body massage 🙏🏻 this was so amazing that I had just been on a long bike ride and just what I needed at the end of the day 🥰 There dog is super cute ☺️ but not as cute as my Viennese monkey 🐵 We have been here and spoken openly with Hong who has been refurbishing for 3 months 😌 they still have things to do as well as running the business and have children ☺️ We have also returned in the evening which has a lovely chilled ambience with music 🎶 this place can only get better over time and I would gladly return here again and again to support there business.. The waiter Thai was really attentive even though he spoke little English but he was translating the messages to us and he was very happy 😃 if I wasn’t leaving in a days time 🥰 Thank you for the most happy welcoming visit to your Bar &...
Read moreWe came here twice, back to back, on incredibly hot days. First just for drinks, and then for lunch (Bun Cha and Bo Bun - both very good) and an afternoon of relaxing. The beer is well priced, the coffee is good, and the food is delicious. There is a varied menu of Vietnamese and Western dishes, and a nice selection of cocktails. But really you should come for the attentive service, the view of the amazing landscape and river full of lotus flowers. It's a lovely place to relax, eat, drink, and generally while away the midday hours when it's too hot to think about much else (or simply think at all, if you come in May like we did). There's also a pool, if you need!
We didn't really go back anywhere twice on this holiday, there are just so many options it never really made sense, but it didn't take much thinking between the both of us to decide to come back here. I recommend coming if you're in the area and in dire need of a rest, or just to watch a passing thunderstorm and drink a couple of...
Read moreForest Sunset Bar & Restaurant is easily one of the nicest spots we visited in Ninh Binh. The setting is absolutely gorgeous—tucked away in nature with a breathtaking view, especially at sunset. It’s got a super relaxed vibe, and if you’re up for it, you can even take a dip in the pool while waiting for your food. It’s a hidden gem and definitely worth the visit.
The atmosphere is what really sets it apart—peaceful, welcoming, and perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. It’s the kind of place you want to spend a few hours just soaking it all in.
The only downside for us was the portion sizes. The food tasted great, but the servings were on the smaller side, and we left still feeling a bit hungry. A bit more generous portions would really take the whole experience to the next level.
That said, it’s still a place we’d recommend, especially for the views and the vibe. A great spot to relax, grab a drink, and enjoy Ninh Binh’s...
