Chu's House - Tam Coc — Restaurant in Ninh Bình Province

This restaurant, located near where I was staying, truly surprised me. It was a bit quiet, and like many places, they invited me in as I passed by. At that moment, I was craving something more European or American—maybe a pizza or a burger—and that’s probably why I decided to give it a try. Despite this, they also offer local dishes, and what amazed me was that they can whip up something that’s not even on the menu!

Now, let’s talk about the wonderful surroundings and the amazing people. I felt right at home, warmly welcomed by the restaurant’s owner and her family, leaving a lasting impression. I found myself returning there constantly during my stay in Ninh Binh. Even when I came back to Ninh Binh a second time, I went straight to them. They make one of the most delicious pizzas I’ve had in Vietnam, fantastic burgers, and their fries—absolutely out of this world!

I remember once I was out and about, and I sent them a message asking if they had any fish dishes. They replied saying they have everything I could want, offered me some options, and when I asked if it was on the menu, they simply said, "No, we made it because you asked!" In short, the atmosphere is wonderful, the family is wonderful, and the people are wonderful. Definitely worth a visit—I'll be back again!

Saw this cozy restaurant while returning from Bich Dong Pagoda in Tam Coc. Loved everything about the place. Good mix of Asian and continental options with plenty for vegetarians as well. Ordered the orange, carrot and pineapple smoothie which was delicious and refreshing (ended up ordering two). The beef burger and falafel burger was also excellent. The staff is super friendly and served everything with a smile. The ambience is nice and warm with lots of planters. We loved it so much that we ended up coming back for dinner and we're not disappointed. The falafel salad was great (after adding a little bit of salt). Highly recommend the mango and passion fruit smoothie. The pizza was mediocre. Very reasonably priced....

So we went here for a beer, there are a couple of other places in the area that offer fresh beer. One of them (which I have reviewed) just opposite to the right, serve horrible beer, so we avoid. Unfortunately Chu's house will go to this restaurant for beer. I would recommend to go to the restaurant directly opposite if you are going to do this. I appreciate they will need to charge a higher price than the restaurant they are getting the beer from, but when the beer is terrible, it leaves a bitter taste (no pun intended).
