Our Go-To Spot in Tam Cốc!
We spent four days in Tam Cốc and came back to this restaurant every single night — that alone says a lot. From the very first meal, we were impressed by the warm atmosphere, fast service, and consistently delicious food.
We’ve tried nearly everything on their menu — from local Vietnamese specialties to Western options — and everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked with care. Some standout dishes for us were:
The stir-fried noodles with beef and bok choy — simple but full of flavor.
The beef salad — perfectly seasoned with sesame and a generous amount of fresh veggies.
And surprisingly… the pizza! I wasn’t expecting much from a pizza in rural Vietnam, but it was genuinely delicious — crispy crust, fresh ingredients, and nicely balanced toppings.
You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are reasonable for the quality. Portions are generous, and the place is clean and welcoming.
This was hands-down our favorite dining spot in Tam Cốc. Whether you’re craving local dishes or something a bit more Western, this place delivers.

Read moreA typical Vietnamese-style restaurant, but the food here was disappointing. Both the duck and the soup had a clear "refrigerator taste," and the duck was even cold inside. This was surprising, because in Vietnam you usually find freshly cooked meals. I don’t mind if food is precooked and stored, but here it felt like it had been sitting in the fridge for too long. On top of that, the prices are really high compared to the south of Vietnam, where the food is usually very fresh and full of flavor. Luckily, my stomach was fine afterward, but the taste, quality, and price left me disappointed. This was the first time in Vietnam that I’ve experienced food that tasted reheated...
Read moreThe food tastes like home-cooked meals - tasty and nutritious. The restaurant is in a garden courtyard, on a side street that is about 100-150 meters from the main road. So, the ambience is amazing as one can dine without the non-stop traffic on the main road. The husband, Thanh and wife, Lin, are really amazing. The restaurant is family operated, and it's great that we can support their business. As mentioned, the wife also has a food stand on the main road (which sells take-away). It's also a great marketing vehicle as that's how we learnt about Madam 7.
