Reply to owner: Okay, I can accept that answer and apologize for the direct words. I can confirm, that you're telling the truth and there was another family next to us. So your version sounds reasonable. However the communication wasn't really good and it appeared like you followed us to the train station to demand the money back. Unfortunately, we visited several restaurants where it is common practice to charge one or two drinks more and hope, that the customers won't notice. It's always just about 20000 VND, but it's really annoying. You can proof that you're not one of them by improving the bills to a readable level and using a calculator to validate the correct total. Just do so and future customers will ignore this review as an unlucky coincidence. Let's forget about today. Cheers!

In short: the food and drinks are delicious. There would actually be 5 stars for that. Toilet is also clean, but there was no toilet paper. What is unacceptable is the behavior of the owner! He overcharged us for a drink. From his illegible notes it was not possible to understand the final total. We paid first and then checked the bill again using the menu outside, which differed in part from the menu in the restaurant. After we had confirmed our bill, my wife demanded the difference back. He was still making up calculations and eventually gave us the difference back and we went to the station. At this point, we were already sure that this was not a mistake, but a system. Another guest had a similar problem when he was not believed that he had already paid part of his bill. The climax followed, as the owner followed us 5 minutes later and harassed my wife in the station building and demanded that we pay for a smoothie that he had supposedly forgotten. After an incredibly INCREDIBLY sweaty day trip around Ninh Binh my friends and I were due to take an overnight train to Hue. We really wanted to shower before our train so thought we'd see if An Restaurant would allow us to use the showers. The lady who greeted us was very kind and although she didn't initially understand my request she rang the owner who spoke to me on the phone. He arranged for us to have towels and use the facilities then we ordered some food. The food was delicious and we were so happy to be able to clean ourselves up after a day in the baking sun. Later, the owner arrived and he introduced me to his wife and they were both so friendly and welcoming. We waited for our train in the restaurant and had a few more drinks. Thank you for being so accommodating! We felt so much better having visited...

Enjoyed a quick, delightful dinner at this lush and tranquil restaurant tonight. Service was kind & friendly.

Everything was excellent! Interestingly, I preferred the sausage fried rice over the beef banh mi - don't get me wrong, the banh mi was quite tasty. The place also offers free WiFi and accepts Visa credit cards with a 3% fee.
