We visited this restaurant after seeing it recommended online, and it turned out to be a great choice. The place is quite spacious, with a beautiful seaside view and a refreshing breeze that makes dining here extra enjoyable.
Unfortunately, it started raining not long after we sat down, so we had to move indoors. Still, the staff were quick and attentive, helping us set up a new table right away, which made the experience smooth and pleasant.
As for the food, the standout dishes for me were the Thai-style grilled pork ribs and the salt-and-chili grilled pomfret. Both were flavorful and well-seasoned, especially with the dipping sauce, which added a rich and savory kick.
Overall, it’s definitely a spot I’d come back to if I return to Mũi Né. Between the sea view, the service, and the standout dishes, it’s well worth a visit.
Travel Tip: Try the Thai-style ribs or the grilled pomfret—they’re the highlights of the menu and pair perfectly with the house dipping sauce. If you can, choose a seaside table for the best atmosphere, but have a backup plan in...
Read moreThùng Gỗ Restaurant is a pretty good stop if you're traveling around Phan Thiết. The space is large, open, and breezy, with plenty of tables — perfect for families or groups of friends. If you visit around late afternoon, you can enjoy your meal while watching a beautiful sunset with the ocean breeze adding to the experience. Pro tip: if you want to sit at the outermost tables right by the seaside for the best view, make sure to reserve a table in advance, as those spots fill up quite fast!
Regarding the food, the menu is not as diverse as some neighboring seafood restaurants. If you expect a wide range of seafood dishes, it might feel slightly limited. However, the dishes are flavorful and well-seasoned. Prices are average — not particularly cheap, but fair considering the tourist area.
What I appreciated most was the staff: very friendly, attentive, and enthusiastic throughout the meal. If you’re looking for a relaxing, breezy spot to enjoy seafood and watch the sunset, Thùng Gỗ is definitely...
Read moreI recently dined at Thùng Gỗ and, unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The food was bland and lacked any distinctive flavour. Even the fish sauce used with the food was heavily watered down.
The prices were not reflective of the quality. For what we received, the meal felt overpriced compared to other local restaurants and simply not worth it.
The one redeeming feature of the restaurant was its atmosphere. The seating by the sea provided a lovely view and a calming ambiance, which made the visit somewhat enjoyable. However, this alone could not make up for the lackluster dining experience.
If you’re looking for a place with great food, this might not be the best choice. However, if you’re just seeking a scenic spot by the sea, it could be worth visiting—but temper your expectations when it comes...
