Taj Grill was a let down, unfortunately. First, let me say that the food was tasty. I couldn't fault their samosas, naan or vindaloo. The place is really run down. I'm okay with a a restaurant having a bit of charm, but the bathroom wasn't okay and there was a pretty dingy towel hanging up there. Honestly, it even looked like someone was using it as their living space, too. My partner ordered a lemon juice that tasted really awful. Maybe it was a rotten lemon? I don't know. Our waiter was also the delivery man, so the person at another table couldn't actually get his bill as the cook and the local staff didn't know how to do. Also, the waiter didn't remember to give the order to the kitchen from a table of three, so the staff had to come and take their orders again while he was The food also took a pretty long time to arrive. It was almost an hour. Like I said, the food was tasty. It wasn't worth the hassle.

In a nutshell: Good and priceworthy curries, very good garlic naan and friendly but slow service. Hygiene standards were questionable. Even though we noticed a unpleasant smell that clearly came from the toilet, we decided to give it a try. On the first attempt, the waitress was very quick but we weren't so we had to ask to give us some more time. It took her quite a while to come back but all in all friendly and courteous service. The drinks menu is compact but has everything you need. The food selection is good and should offer a good and authentic Indian experience for everyone. Our curries (chicken and veggie) were good and luckily mild, so if you want a hot curry, ask for it or order a hot one from the menu. The garlic naan was very good, little crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The downside in the end was the omnipresent smell and the cleanliness of the restroom.

Some of the best Indian food I've ever had. The place looks to have been renovated and it's much brighter and cleaner looking for a business. The open door way is a nice touch to bring that Vietnam feel of street eating if you decide to sit at a table near the entrance. The waiter was so helpful when ordering. I wanted it get two main dishes and some naan, but I'm so glad I trusted the waiter. He recommended a spicy chili chicken appetizer and the palak paneer because it would be too much to eat... Honestly for one person that chicken chili app would be filling enough. The garlic naan waa huge, flavorful and crispy. I loved the wood fire taste of some of the crispy edges. The palak paneer was so creamy and smooth. It had a generous portion of cheese in it too. The mango lassi was ok. I will definitely come back because everything was so delicious.

Don’t judge the book by its cover!.....

From the looks alone you would probably never chose this restaurant. Its boring. Its totally void of any inspiring or beautiful interior architecture or design. It looked nothing like the pictures here on google. Its also a bit out and away from the centre of the city and there are no beautiful view to google your eyes at.

The staff also doesn’t really come running to greet you with a big smile, but will casually come with the menu as you have sat down by the table of your choosing.

But as so often is the case, you should not let the outwards face decide what’s on the inside. The food was actually great and the pricing is really not off the charts. We went as a couple for lunch and had two curries, one rice, one garlic naan, salad, one beer and one freshly squeezed orange juice. Both our curries was very good. The garlic naan was delicious.

The sizes of the portions was just enough although the rice came up slightly short at the end. The total price for the whole thing landed at about 18usd (400000vnd) All in all we left the restaurant feeling...
