I've visited this cafe a couple of times. The food is passable. Some of the waitstaff are only concerned with tips and would even ask about it before I could pay my bill. Today around 1500 I sat down and had a cup of coffee before deciding what to order for a meal. Around 1530, the waitress that attended to me suddenly came over and told me that she's knocking off so she'll close the bill. I was like 'okay' and I was in the middle of working online. And then she raised her voice at me saying 'Do you understand?!' I speak English perfectly and didn't need to be shouted at that way. I was just trying to comprehend why the end of her shift means that I'm now forced to pay before I could order my food. I was only allowed to sit there for as long as the waitress in on duty? I didn't understand why she would take my drink order if she is ending her shift soon. I am a petite brown woman and did not look threatening so I guess she became audacious enough to speak to me that way. I wasn't raised to publicly argue with service people so please train your staff properly for the sake...

Came here every weekend for a month while in town. Food usually takes a while but is nice and the vibe is very cool… however on our last visit the food took 2 hours and multiple items came wrong. Our server was lovely and apologetic but when we gently requested to only pay half the bill the manager came and told us we had to pay in full as we ate the food… yes we ate it… we were starving after 2 hours. My friends food didn’t come out until we were leaving as they hadn’t even started making it while the rest of us were getting our food (after 1hr 45) and she asked for it to go but the manager said she couldn’t take it with her unless she paid for it. We understand things often take longer in Zambia and that’s okay but even the server knew 2 hrs was unacceptable… the manager didn’t apologize once and just demanded we...

I enjoyed the food here and would give more stars however there's a slight part that bothers me but nevertheless I gave it just to shoo away. You get good service and the food is delicious but asking or hinting for tips because your from a different country is not good. I have been here twice with my partner and because he is zambian the waitress assumed I was paying the bill because of my skin colour. This offended my partner but he explained that's how he gets treated. However asking for tips or hinting is a complete turn off and this the only restaurant that expected a tip that I've been to in zambia. Cut that out and please don't assume the white person is paying the bill if their partner is not white. Also I've never gotten my change back everytime I've come here which is a big rip-off....

What a hidden gem! The coffee was absolutely amazing—bold, smooth, and full of flavor. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, making it a perfect spot for work calls or getting things done. I tried the cheesecake, and wow… it’s to die for—creamy, rich, and unforgettable. It’s also a great place to catch up with a friend or just unwind with a good conversation. And if you forgot to grab a gift, don’t worry—they’ve got a charming little gift store right on site. Highly recommend! Check out the Fence it’s made up of recycled bottles so cool 😎

Kubu Cafe in Livingstone is one of those places that instantly feels like home. It’s cozy, calm, and perfect for a good meal or just a great cup of coffee. The food is fresh and flavorful whether you’re into oxtail stew, hearty burgers, or light vegetarian options. The staff are genuinely warm and attentive, and there’s even a play area for kids. Whether you’re traveling or local, it’s a peaceful spot to relax, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy some quiet time. Kubu Cafe is definitely a favorite worth returning to.

We have been In livingston for a few days and went for coffee and something sweet. The atmosphere of the outside seating area brings you back to colonial times...the tin roof, the set up and style of the tables and chairs....even the magazines (Erich are from the 90's ). The cake , we had apple crumble the first and brandy bread pudding the second day, are reminding about British cuisine. To sum it all up a MUST if you are in livingston! A little oasis away from the hustle of the street with great coffee and cake.
