PROS:
If you get the chance, stay at Ngoma Zanga Lodge! The staff is incredible! Kennedy and Caroline were AMAZING hosts, along with the rest of the team. They were so incredibly kind, helpful, and quick to accommodate requests, such as helping us order taxis and keeping track of our different tours etc.
You MUST try the Beef Stew for dinner—it’s delicious!
The price was great, and the location made it very easy to get to the major sites. The rooms were very clean with daily cleanings, and the adorable elephant-shaped towels provided every day added such a nice touch.
MINOR CONS:
Be aware that the Wi-Fi can be spotty and inconsistent, which can be challenging if you're travelling with a group staying in nearby hotels or need to check your emails frequently. Additionally, there were a few power cuts—this isn’t the fault of the lodge, just the reality of travelling to a country with load-shedding.
Mosquitoes were annoying, so we had to keep our room very cold and use a lot of DEET. However, the lodge provides a very lovely mosquito net. Again, this is just the reality of being in Southern Africa, so it’s no fault of anyone. Overall, these minor inconveniences did not detract from our...
Read moreWow what a hidden gem this place is! The service is outstanding and the care you receive is above and beyond for a 3 star hotel. From the moment you arrive until you leave you are very well looked after. Caroline, Ken & Destiny are so lovely and kind, made us feel very much at home. The breakfast is cooked to your liking, we spent 8 nights here and enjoyed every day. The pool is kept clean everyday. Its lovely and quiet too. The only thing I would suggest is that they start providing lunch and dinner. We did order from Zest restaurant a few times but it arrived cold, but the brilliant hotel staff did warm it up for us. There is a supermarket 5 minute walk away called Choppies. Where the lodge is based there is no street lighting so not recommended to go out after dark. We booked our trips with Chikondi safaris & Tours +260 97 5730682 Chande knowledge is excellent and offers a wide range of trips. Thank you to everyone who made this trip of a lifetime such an amazing experience. Maxine &...
Read moreFirstly a big mistake was not having US dollars pound sterling or Euros or Rand . You will need these and probably US dollars are the best.|| We had booked this hotel so we could visit the Vic Falls. Being newbies we did not understand that but the Waterfalls that time of year were in Zimbabwe so we got a shuttle courtesy of Cliff to Zimbabwe and went through border controls which is easy and not so far although extortionate in cost. Where does that money go?? |In any case we were happy to stay in Zambia as I'm sure their hospitality would outshine Zimbabwe.||The falls were spectacular.||Caroline and in particular Kennedy were very helpful and knowledgeable. For the ignorance like us, the first language in Zambia is English. So we showed our ignorance by complimenting them on their good English LOL. ||The rooms were very comfortable and the food was of good quality. You will get good mango courtesy of the giant mango...
