Salt brings a fresh twist to Harare’s dining scene with its fusion of American classics and Mediterranean-inspired fare, all served in a bright, contemporary space. Situated at No. 2 Kingsmead Road in the Lifestyle Centre, Borrowdale, this halal-certified eatery welcomes you daily from 8 AM to 9 PM, whether you’re in the mood for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or a sweet treat.

🌟 Ambience & Setting Step inside and you’ll find an airy, industrial‑chic interior accentuated by pops of color, clean lines, and plenty of natural light. There’s a convivial buzz at the counter where you place your order, as well as comfortable seating areas for casual catch‑ups or solo work sessions. Outside, a small terrace offers alfresco dining under umbrellas—perfect for soaking up Harare’s mild mornings and cooler evenings.

🍔 Menu Highlights Salt’s offerings span juicy gourmet burgers, loaded fries, crispy chicken wraps, and a selection of fresh salads dressed up with Mediterranean‑style toppings. Don’t miss their signature “Salt Stack” burger—layers of beef, melted cheese, pickles and aioli sandwiched in a toasted brioche bun. On the lighter side, mezze platters with hummus, falafel and warm pita are great for sharing. To round things off, their milkshake lineup—think Oreo, Nutella and fresh fruit blends—is a crowd‑pleaser for kids and adults alike.

☕️ Drinks & Desserts Beyond shakes, Salt serves barista‑style coffees and an array of refreshing mocktails and iced teas. Their dessert counter tempts with chocolate fondant, cheesecake slices and rotating seasonal specials—ideal for that afternoon sugar fix or a post‑meal indulgence before evening events kick off elsewhere in Borrowdale.

👥 Service & Vibe The team at Salt is known for its friendly, welcoming approach and quick turnaround times, even during the lunchtime rush. Though weekends can get busy, with the occasional wait for a seat, the upbeat music and casual environment keep the mood light. Takeaway and delivery options make it easy to enjoy Salt’s menu on the go.

🏁 Final Thoughts Whether you’re after a hearty brunch, a laid‑back dinner or just a creamy milkshake with friends, Salt delivers consistent quality in a fun, modern setting. Its mix of familiar comfort dishes with Mediterranean flair makes it a dependable spot for families, students and professionals alike—definitely one to bookmark next time you’re...

The quest for the best breakfast place continues. I always appreciate reimagined concepts of things. Like the way this food was served on a cast iron grill plate. However, ergonomics matter. It was very much difficult to have the food on the grill because the surface was not flat and there wasn’t any space to do anything. So, we had to request for side plates.

Onto the food itself. It was alright. I enjoyed the sausages the most and maybe the bread. Everything else was kinda an npc. The beans were a bit too watery so they lost their flavour. I’m not a fan of mushrooms but my mom is, she said they weren’t great. I usually love grilled tomatoes but I only had a bit of this one. I think maybe there was a lot going on in the plate so I didn’t get a chance to eat and enjoy everything. The potatoes were a weird addition. Starch has no place on a breakfast plate. I will always advocate for its eradication.

The service was okay. Our waitress was quite friendly but I was a bit disappointed that we had to remind her of our drink order. We only got them halfway through our meal when we had requested that we get them with our food.

Just a general comment on the breakfast menu, it’s very limited. There should be a greater...

Salt, a burger joint nestled in Harare’s bustling culinary scene, offers an experience that is both memorable and stylish. The menu showcases a range of gourmet burgers with premium ingredients and an undeniable attention to flavor. From the tender beef patties to the creative toppings, every bite is a testament to quality. The fact that the food is Halaal-certified broadens its appeal, ensuring diners of all backgrounds can indulge with confidence.

However, the indulgence comes at a cost. While the taste justifies some markup, prices do lean toward the pricier side, making it more of a special treat than a casual weekly dinner spot. Another consideration is the ambiance—though Salt’s sleek, modern décor and energetic vibe are a plus, it isn’t particularly geared toward children. Young families may find the setup less than accommodating.

For food enthusiasts looking to explore Harare’s trendier side, Salt certainly delivers on flavor and flair. Just be prepared to pay a bit extra for the experience, and consider leaving the littlest...

I’d like to share my experience at Salt restaurant. I’ve dined here more than five times and love bringing family and friends along. The ambiance and decor are truly unique for Zimbabwe. The food is generally very good, although there are occasional inconsistencies in quality; however, it seems they're working to improve this. One aspect that some might find off-putting is the pricing. While I understand the quality, it is on the higher side compared to other places. A slight adjustment could definitely attract more customers. I highly recommend the smoked beef burger, dynamite shrimp, and garlic bread—they’re outstanding! However, I believe the beverage prices could be reconsidered, as they are quite steep and tax is added separately, unlike many other restaurants where prices include tax. Overall, I wish Salt all the best!
