MOST EMBARRASSING DATE EVER DISAPPOINTED!! We decided to take some friends who hadn't been to Zimbabwe to Cafe Nush. Their menu simply stated "Bbq Ribs" which we automatically assumed would be pork because if they were beef, which they turned out to be, they should have been called "Short Ribs." For some reason the waiter assumed we love our beef cremated, because had he asked if we would like our ribs rare, medium or well done we would have known its certainly not pork. But as you can see from our plates they were burnt, dry and tough offerings we could only conclude were reheated from earlier and smudged with a whole lot of marinade to cover up. When we pointed out the issue the manager Ambrose and his first concern was monetary after which he mentioned Paddington (our waiter) was a trainee. Basically there was no resolution we are the veggies in our plates left the "Bbq Ribs" paid our bill and left. I wouldn't be surprised if the ribs were kept for the next person.
Good luck, oh and lest i forget please make sure if you decide to sit on the outside deck they are not spraying herbicides and pesticides on their plants that day. We were clearly victims of...
Read moreHad lunch with a friend there. Food and service were okay. When we went to pay we asked to use a card. We specifically asked the wait staff if the charge was in bond notes ($18) or USD ($9). She said bond notes. When I checked my bank account online, it had gone through in USD so I had been charged twice the price. When I asked them to correct it they said they could not cancel the transaction or give a refund. I asked if they could refund me in cash from the til, or at least the difference, and the manager (Ambrose) said he was not authorized to do so. He said he could call the owner later that night and give me a call with a solution the next day. Neither happened. What was also startling was that he said the same thing happened to another patron days earlier. Not sure why they would continue to allow this to happen other than...
Read moreCafe Nush has a pleasant setting and a menu that offers a variety of options, but the experience is let down by a few key issues. Prices are noticeably high compared to similar spots in Harare, and it’s hard to justify the cost for what you get. On top of that, the café often feels understaffed, which means service can be slow and staff appear stretched thin.
While it can still be a decent place for a quick coffee or meeting if you’re not in a rush, the combination of high prices and limited service takes away from the overall value. With better staffing and more reasonable pricing, Cafe Nush could live up to...
