A really good beach, free of the sargassum seaweed that blights so many others. You can rent sunbeds at a price that starts off vague and gets vaguer as money is produced, but they're not expensive. There's plenty of trees providing good shade. We went on a Sunday and it started filling up with family & church groups as the day passed. Be aware that if you have snorkelling equipment, the kids will brazenly ask to use it if you're not - almost forming a queue. They're honest though and my kit came back, but it got a little tiresome having to fend them off when I wanted to snorkel - or go and find who had it now. The water is good for basic snorkelling and you'll see fish, possibly turtles, sea cucumbers and so on. If you stand quietly in the water, lots of curious small fish come up and swim around you, not afraid in the least. Read moreOne of Antigua's better beaches, with a commanding location in the Falmouth Harbour with astounding views of the Harbour and Beyond (the Island of Montserrat can be seen on clearer days). Well maintained with good facilities, my Children's "Play Ground Beach". Many Antiguans and tourists frequent this scenic beach I must say that its popularity is increasing and facilities are improving and expanding.
Accessed by land and sometimes by sea, this beach has seen many picnics and beach parties plus other beach activities. Great for swimming and snorkeling and sometimes fishing the beach/park has a lot to offer. The beach is busier during peak yachting seasons and one public holidays and weekends. Many have had fun childhood memories involving this beach, present company included.
A point of Interest on Antigua and Barbuda, it can also be reached via a scenic hike leading from the Nelson's Dockyard. Definitely a place to visit and have an enjoyable, relaxing and...
Read moreGreat snorkeling route at this beach, hubby saw an eel, turtles etc Even just paddling in the shallows a school of curious fish swam round my legs the whole time I was in the water! Go support this lovely little business (the owner is a cat lover and has a sweet band of kitties...
