The early church denomination which Peter and Paul and others built … still stands. Right in the centre of Adelaide; the town where I was born. I bless you in Jesus’ name. I pray that one day we will see God’s kingdom come and his will be done; on earth as it is in Heaven. I pray that you will make Jesus and his twelve disciples proud; when they look at you and see all you do, and all you have endured. I pray that people will be added to your number daily, and that you will do the works that Jesus did and greater. I pray that you will obey God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; with every moment of your waking life, and every second that this church lives. I pray that every church in Adelaide will be united into one unstoppable force, with Christ our head and cornerstone, may we be once again; the City...

The Cathedral is dedicated to the great 16th century Spanish Jesuit missionary saint who is also patron of the Church in Australia and patron of our first bishop Francis Murphy (1844-58). Initial construction began in 1851 and there has been various phases of activity leading to the installation of the tower in 1996.

Building of the Cathedral began in 1851, making it the oldest cathedral in Australia.

The tower was not completed until 1996 – 145 years almost to the day after workers had dug the first sod for the beginning of work on the Cathedral site.

The Cathedral is usually a busy place with several daily Masses, Rosary and confessions as well as weddings, baptisms and funerals.

It is both a Cathedral and a parish church, so there are usually many diocesan and parish...

t. Francis Xavier's Catholic Cathedral is a breathtakingly beautiful place of worship. Its Gothic Revival architecture is stunning, and the atmosphere is peaceful and serene. The understated sanctuary and altar add to its elegance. Conveniently located, the cathedral is easily accessible by tram or bus. This wonderfully built Roman Catholic Church is a fitting tribute to Saint Francis Xavier. Please take the opportunity to visit, but remember to be respectful of ongoing services. Overall, St. Francis Xavier's is a must-see destination for architecture enthusiasts and those seeking...

St Francis Xavier’s cathedral is a beautiful place of catholic worship. The traditional gothic architecture inside & out are stunning. Inside, the natural sun rays that shine in during Mass are amazing. Also, the cathedral is located in Adelaide CBD, which is accessible & conveniently located. Had the opportunity to attend Mass here with my wife, and it was a really nice experience, with a homily that was relatable!
