I came to Tusmore Park today and I found the First Creek was so clean, peaceful and beautiful. However, Google Map doesn't show from where it comes to the Tusmore Park and where it goes after Tusmore Park.
I was I bit curious how the First Creek runs through various roads and backyards of many houses within Adelaide city to arrive to the Tusmore Park and also where it ends?
The First Creek also passing through the Hazelwood Park, and interesting to know it is also the stream passing through the beautiful Waterfall Gully that I visited twice just a few weeks ago.
Eventually I discovered that the First Creek, once passes through Hazelwood Park and Tusmore Park, it mainly turns to underground canels or within concrete culverts, just occasionally passing though backyards of some houses. It passes through Norwood, Kent Town and eventually arrives Adelaide Botanic Garden First Creek Wetland before discharging into River Torrens at...
Read moreDidn't mind this place. It has alot of walking space for little adventurers and alot of trees and space for picnics. Found the pool was great too but a bit concerning that there is no fence surrounding the pool. It's almost like waiting for an accident to happen. Wouldn't bring multiple children here,as you will need one set of eyes on one child at any given time as the park can be quite dangerous without the proper supervision. I don't understand that if we need a pool fence for pools deeper than 30cm on your yard, why they don't have a pool fence here? It only takes seconds for a child to drown and that's all it takes is a few seconds lapse of concentration and your child could be seriously hurt. Like I said if you wanted to enjoy a stress free day here with the kids, you will need alot of eyes to help with the supervision otherwise I...
Read moreIf I rated this park on sentiment it would be 5+. After all I've lived here for 70 years: so many good memories. The facilities cater for most needs but to be perfectly honest, it's all a bit run down.
There's not enough parking if you need to drive here. Don't plan large gatherings on weekends or public holidays. The toilets are inadequate and often dirty. Large areas of level grassed surface have been covered in course bark chips. Bridges over the creek are left out of order for extended periods and playground equipment can be damaged and dangerous. The tennis courts are cracked with a covering of possum poo and ball bearing like Redgum gumnuts.
Why does it even rate 4*? For people like me it is a haven of calm and natural serenity that I will never tire of and hope will...
