We were passing through Agnes water after visiting 1770 so decided to stop at the museum and I am honestly so grateful we did.

Easily one of the best $5 I’ve spent in my life. Loads of information on the cook landings and charting of Australia as well as plenty of local history and first people’s artwork and artifacts.

For me though there was one true highlight which was the 100 year old orange. If only I had taken the time to ask about how it has been preserved for so long as I am still losing sleep thinking about it. How do they know it’s 100 years old? I am in awe.

There were plenty of other beautiful local historical artifacts such as the restored fuel pump. Personally though the orange gave the museum its true zest.

I will definitely be back next time I am in the area. Recommend...

A straightforward and informative glimpse into local history. The museum is modest in size but well-organized, making it easy to explore. The exhibits cover key historical aspects and cultural elements of the region. While it doesn’t have a vast collection or interactive displays, it serves its purpose as a local history museum. The staff are knowledgeable and enhance the experience with their insights. It’s a suitable destination for a short visit if you’re interested in learning about Agnes Water’s background, though those seeking a more extensive museum experience may be...

Don’t miss this fabulous museum if your in town! There’s so much to see and read about the history and Capt Cooks landing here! There is a $5 entry fee for adults only and it’s a wonderful contribution to keep the history alive! Volunteer there today was full of info and lovely to chat too, Thankyou!!

What a great museum. $5 entry fee well worth it. Lots of history on Captain Cook & many artefacts to see & read. Wonderful tribute to the six young men who lost their lives in the sinking of the FV Dianne trawler off 1770 in 2017. Highly recommend.
