Here's a more detailed look at the history and background of Beechworth Honey:

The best local Honey in Australia, well that is my opinion. We may live in the area, but we always love coming back to Beechworth Honey. Over the years we have had the pleasure of watching Beechworth Honey grow and expand its produce to buy. We were even excited to find Beechworth Honey made it up to Townsville while we worked there. When we moved, we went and bought a heap of Honey to take with us as at the time not many supermarkets stocked it, but now you can just about find their stock standard honey in most supermarkets.

The highlight of visiting the actual Beechworth based store is not only do you get to see the wide range of honey you can purchase that is of course after you have a taste test. But they have a wonderful Bee education program where you can learn about the extracting process for honey and how Beechworth Honey has grown and developed over the years, this a great supportive education visit for home-schooling or extra learning for kids

I love the fact that there is so much you can buy in the shop, there is such a huge range of different types of honey, my favourite is the Orange Blossom Honey, and the Lemon Myrtle is divine. But you can get the traditional basic honey through to different Flavors and even honey with honeycomb. We enjoyed the drinks that they had the honey Nectar was sweet and tasty, at $3.95 a bottle it was so worth it. We did try both flavours, but the honey nectar was our favourite. Honey pots are on average $10 + a jar.

The shop has all sorts of goodies to buy apart from honey, you could also purchase toys, beauty products, bee books, souvenirs and heaps more.

Access: There is open access to the shop and the bee tour, so wheelchair and wheelie walkers are welcome. i would not say the store would be suitable for extra-large wheelchairs as there is a few shelves in the centre of the store and when it is busy it will be like a bull in a China shop...

A quirky, informative friendly little shop with a proud history. We were in Beechworth for four day and every day went back to the Beechworth Honey Shop. The staff were awesome with regard to their product knowledge, as well as the town and general area. They provided positive banter with customers and ensured the atmosphere was light and fun. Their product range was surprisingly vast with some many different varieties of products which were all honey related. There is a short video tour that you can take with your family which provides history on the Beechworth Honey Company as well as information relating to bee’s in general. You can then participate in the vast range of honey tasting products.

If you’re ever in the Beechworth area, do yourself a favour and go and visit the Beechworth Honey shop… You won’t be...

While it is a tourism drawcard to Beechworth with its lore of bushrangers, grim penitentiaries & asylums - the sweet & honeyed association with this local produce is a lighter & brighter side of Beechworth in my humble opinion. A vital role it plays too in nurturing bees for natural pollination. Bought lots of stuff which were packed securely in a small box for long drive back to Melb by the staff. You will find honey & beeswax infused boutique creams, cosmetics, soaps & giftware etc here that are not retailed elsewhere. Try the honey infused bottled drinks - I got some ginger & honey fizzy drink & loved it. Plenty of free parking. Part of the town hub of Beechworth.

A must-see when you're at Beechworth! We were recommended to visit by the Information Centre and we were not disappointed! This shop offers more than 60 types of honey collected by bees from different types of trees and flowers. There's a tasting station where they generously allow you to sample the different types to help you with your choice. In addition to pure honey, they also offer a wide variety of amazing honey-based products such as honey lemon fizz drinks, honey scented candles, and very importantly: honey flavoured macadamia ice cream which we went back for 2nds and 3rds!
