Absolutely loved this little gem of a gallery! Warmly greeted by a lovely couple Dirk & Carolyn with their gorgeous black furbaby “Faith”. The gallery also with Lady’s Shed / Men’s Shed gatherings, showcases local artists & their wonderful artworks, timber sculptures, timber tools, bowls & various pieces. Such an unassuming collection & one worth every minute of your time!

Visiting The Shed is a must when you visit Broken Hill. This rustic gallery has beautiful art (paintings and woodwork) created by two local artists along with a great selection of gifts and prints. All visitors receive such a warm welcome and Caroline and Dirk are very generous with their time and local knowledge. Highly recommended for a browse or stay for a cuppa.

Such a welcoming, beautiful, and well presented space, like dropping in on an old friend. Surely the best new addition to the town since the railway museum opened.

What a shame to only discover this gem on the last day of our week in Broken Hill. We would have returned several times! So refreshing to see some genuine artistic talent without the twee bent that can dominate some galleries.

The kids loved learning about the history of the building from furniture design, the local post office, and some of the finest kombucha you have ever tasted - they wanted to stay longer to read a book and play a game.

Do yourself a favour and drop in for a squiz, grab a cuppa, have a yarn and get yourself a piece of the finest art in the region (at very reasonable rates mind you).

Can't wait to come back for a game of scrabble and find out how the latest batch of...

The Shed is a small oasis in Broken Hill. I met the owners, Dirk and Carolyn, when they were living in the Blue Mountains where I purchased a trilogy of artwork from Dirk’s gallery there and which is featured in our home entrance. It draws lots of attention and comments from visitors. Visiting Broken Hill for the first time recently, I went to Dirk and Carolyn’s gallery ‘The Shed’. A perfect space for it where I was warmly welcomed with the offer of a cuppa. The decor of the entry area is retro and has a great vibe about it, featuring furniture that evokes nostalgic feelings from a childhood in the 60s and 70s. The artwork displayed in the gallery is a raw and honest tribute to our beautiful Australian bush, bringing it to life on the canvas. A wonderful way to spend a few hours or even just to pop in. Strongly...

Caroline and Dirk go above and beyond to make every visitor feel welcomed and appreciated. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality that sets the tone for a great experience.

It's a place where creativity flourishes and where people can appreciate and purchase art without breaking the bank.

Beyond art, The Shed is a gathering place that fosters a strong sense of community. The warm and friendly staff go out of their way to make everyone feel included, and the atmosphere encourages conversation, collaboration, and mutual support. Whether you're stopping in for a quality cup of coffee or to admire the latest artwork, you leave feeling uplifted and connected to something bigger. Well worth a visit to...
