Not only is the building a piece of Broken Hill's history and worth stepping inside of on it's own merits, taking in the entire gallery is very much worth your time. Currently with visiting displays from Jim Paterson, Clinton Kemp and Blake Griffiths, which were as interesting as they are diverse, it was the homegrown items on display which were my favourite. With works from Pro Hart, Eric Minchin and Jack Absalom to name drop a few, you'll be able to soak up some of the rich art history of the region.

We traveled to Broken Hill for the Pro Hart Outback Art Prize, in which I was a finalist. The staff and Gallery Director did a great job of hanging the show. It looked fantastic and the opening was a success. The Gallery is a beautiful space with a strong art collection you can view in the upstairs gallery. The staff are very helpful and welcoming, I do recommend popping in for a look.

What a nice surprise of an art gallery. It had quite a few exhibits including the Bald Archy Prize portraits when we were there. We were able to spend quite some time viewing the art works since the gallery welcomed our dog also. The place is a credit to the Broken Hill township.

One of the most relaxing environments, apart from our abundant natural bushland and water reserves, that give people a chance to compose and reflect on such an amazing industry. Broken Hill and its art scene reflect a class of works which reflect the warming embrace of its localism and genuine hospitality. Nestled amongst a plethora of Coffee Shops and eateries its a definite No# 1 hotspot...
