I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Canberra Railway Museum, and I must say it was a truly remarkable experience. This hidden gem in the heart of Canberra is a treasure trove of historical trains and boasts a team of incredibly friendly and knowledgeable volunteer staff.

From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the volunteers who were more than happy to share their passion for trains and the rich history behind each exhibit. Their enthusiasm was infectious and added to the overall charm of the museum.

The collection of historical trains at the museum is nothing short of impressive. From beautifully restored steam locomotives to vintage carriages, every corner of the museum is filled with fascinating artifacts that transport you back in time. The attention to detail in preserving these pieces of history is evident, and it's clear that the museum's team is dedicated to its mission of preserving Australia's railway heritage.

One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to step inside some of the carriages and experience what travel was like in bygone eras. The interiors are meticulously restored to their former glory, making you feel like you've stepped back in time.

The Canberra Railway Museum is not just a place for train enthusiasts; it's a place for anyone who appreciates history and wants to learn about Australia's railway heritage. It's a family-friendly attraction that offers educational experiences and a chance to marvel at the engineering marvels of the past.

In conclusion, my visit to the Canberra Railway Museum was a delightful journey through time, thanks to the impressive collection of historical trains and the warm hospitality of the volunteers. Whether you're a railway enthusiast or simply looking for a unique and educational outing, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this wonderful museum. It's a true testament to Australia's railway history, and you're guaranteed to leave with a newfound appreciation for the locomotives of...

I'm impressed with this museum, they are able to preserve a little piece of Australian railway history and find the Victorian-style passenger cabin to be the most memorable. The visit was considered extraordinary because of the presence of two blokes at the reception, they are extremely friendly and know their stuff. Imagine meeting some boffins who are particularly knowledgeable about trains and have customer service skills comparable to those at the Ritz Carlton!...

Note: Google's opening hours times are wrong. Currently the museum is only open on Sundays — the Wed/Thurs/Sat times are only during school holidays.

It was very interesting seeing the locomotives on display, especially the sleeper berths and dining cars. The staff were exceptionally nice and eager to show us around + answer questions when we asked. Hope to come back in a number of years to see how...

Very recommended for all ages! I went there by myself and had a great tour that one of the friendly staff members guided me. There are plenty of old-fashioned powered by diesel and coal trains which you can take a look at (and even step and enter into a couple of cars/wagons). Its a piece of history that we need to keep and help preserving. Educational and nice
