Unique castle playground supplied by the National Capital Authority.

It is was unnamed until recently and now is officially signposted “Castle Playground” .

It was upgraded with rubber flooring and a safety rail around top slide and stairs from its original design. Be advised the rubber soft fall may still be wet after rain.

Tunnel system underneath the castle that has a sloped tunnel and stairs up to slide.

Their are viewing grates to look into the tunnel system. Be advised to keep awareness of your surroundings as the castle structure does exit to the lower area outside the castle walls.

There is lakes nearby on the grounds of commonwealth including water features nearby.

Amazing playground space that goes beyond the usual plastic and metal equipment and creates an imaginative space that is perfect for kids to be adventurous in. It's not huge but all the little tunnels and maze like layout make it perfect for games. However toddlers and anyone with mobility issues will probably be best off in other more safe and conventional parks- it's a little more challenging for the 2 year old crowd, or people with issues in very tight spaces. Fun little playground for the little ones. This is within one of my favourite parks in Canberra (Commonwealth Park). You'll find this along Commonwealth Park (aka the Floriade area) if you keep walking up along the path - this direction is the one towards the War Memorial and away from the lake's jet fountain.
