Every child who grew up in Canberra and it's surrounds will have gone here at least once for a school excursion over the last 20 years. Despite things changing and exhibitions coming and going this wonderful and extremely educational centre has never ceased to amaze and teach children with fun play based learning! Multiple rooms with different themes create never ending excitement and open children's minds to many different topics and encourages bravery, experimentation and they ll maybe even face their fears in a safe environment. It's impossible to not learn something here. The staff are extremely helpful and the excited particles and their live shows are so fun to watch. There are multiple toilets and changerooms throughout the centre and seating. There is a cafe with adequate indoor and outdoor seating with enough fun things around to keep children entertained while you enjoy your coffee. The shop has so many fun things to buy plus smaller toys that aren't too expensive if you need a souvenir to remember your day! It can become quite pricey if you have a larger family who want to have lunch and buy something from the shop but all great things can cost money and I think it's well worth it for a treat every few months. Enjoy your day and then go enjoy a packed lunch down by the lake afterwards instead if your budget is tight. They also have adults only evenings and we just attended their mid-winter festival where their flashing fairy floss was a hit.

A Wholesome Family Adventure at Questacon Having recently visited Questacon in Canberra with my young toddler, I am filled with nothing but praises for this interactive science center. The variety of exhibits catered not only to the curious minds of the adults but were also enthralling for the little ones. A particular favorite was the water play area which provided an engaging and fun learning experience for my toddler. The hands-on approach of the exhibits kept him entertained and intrigued throughout our visit. The convenience of having a restaurant inside the premises was a big plus. It allowed us to take a break, refuel and get back to exploring without having to leave the center. The food offered was of good quality with a variety of options to cater to different tastes. Moreover, the availability of plenty of restrooms and change areas made our visit smooth, especially with a toddler in tow. It’s evident that Questacon has thoughtfully considered the needs of families, making it a comfortable and enjoyable outing for both kids and adults alike. In a nutshell, our visit to Questacon was a delightful blend of learning and fun. The well-maintained facilities, educational exhibits, and thoughtful amenities like restrooms and a change area, made our outing stress-free and enjoyable. I highly recommend Questacon for families with young children; it’s a place where curiosity is ignited and learning is made joyful.

Every young Australian parent knows of Questacon. Those school trips to Canberra were simply made to come here. I hadn't visited in over 5 years but I was eager to bring my family along again. We have a family pass that's used for the National Maritime Museum in Sydney so we get enter here with that also. Getting in was easy with the membership queue line. The entry forecourt is filled with some activists that are just the start of your busy few hours here. You make your way up the big rano and will be greeted with hands-on activities to do before starting to make your way into the various areas of the museum. You can't rush through, take your time and let the children explore all the hands-on exhibits. While the staple exhibits ars still here they also have what seems a few interactions that must change every so often. A few of the things I recall were not around anymore but change is good. I was happy with the amount of hand sanitiser available (I know we are not in the pandemic) considering how very hands-on everything is. The giant free-fall slide is an institutional thing you must do. It is pretty much the only ride in Canberra. We had a great fun time chilling out under the moon in the end before exploring the gift shop. If you come to Canberra you have to visit this place. Parking is free on weekends. Monday-Friday you do pay for parking.

Well what I can say, I love science and everthing which is to do with our mother earth & it’s spectacular wonders. How I can forget our universe ? Isnt its most exciting when we see all these constellations, our own Sun, how it provide power to our world by its warmth. Who can forget Moon, so many children stories are around it and How ocean 🌊 behaves on its moment ? You will be fascinated to see Moon in the museum & I’m sharing pictures as well. Though we are just a tiny grain in this entire known and unknown universe but now all of this is so known to us, thanks to our brilliant scientific researcher scientists, engineers you have performed so many experiments and research. One can see some of these experiments and even can perform them. There are some live events. There are kid areas as well where they can olay and enjoy this amazing adventure. This is a absolutely wonderful place to visit. Anyone of any age can go and enjoy it. What I can say age is just a number ? Isnt it 😊 There are plenty of parking space and you have to buy a ticket for it.

Questacon, the National Science and Technology Centre in Canberra, is a must-visit destination for families. We recently visited with the kids, and they had an absolutely fantastic time! The interactive exhibits were a highlight, sparking curiosity and providing hands-on learning experiences. From the Earthquake Room to the Free Fall Slide, there was something to excite kids of all ages (and adults too!). The live science shows were engaging and entertaining, offering a fun way to learn about complex concepts. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to explain or demonstrate exhibits. The facility is well-maintained, and there’s plenty of space for kids to explore. The Mini Q area, specifically designed for younger children, was another big hit, with activities that kept them entertained for hours. Overall, Questacon strikes a perfect balance between education and fun. It’s a fantastic way to spark a love of science in kids while creating unforgettable family memories. Highly recommend!
