Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been attending matches here for around 15 years now. For a small boutique stadium, there never seems to be much atmosphere at even the bigger games. Perhaps that's down to the Gold Coast people not being that interesting to begin with?
The food on offer has always been average at best. It's also quite expensive for what you get.
The stadium design is actually quite nice however, when the place is half empty, it feels soulless and lacks character. My worst experience came in 2012 when I went to watch Sydney FC play Gold Coast United in the A-League. They announced a crowd of 800 or so but there would not have been more than 250 inside the entire ground. What's more, on this day in particular, they didn't even offer the few supporters in attendance the option of buying food and drinks.
On the plus side, you are close to the action unlike other more modern cookie cutter stadiums. Big time sport has never really worked on the Gold Coast and I don't think it ever will.
Robina shopping Centre is around 20 minutes away on foot and the train station is just a few short minutes walking distance. After matches, there are also lots of trains on which makes getting home super easy.
