It was pouring rain when we visited. Some of the rides we were wishing to go on were 'under maintenance', so unfortunately, we were unable to go on those rides. Seagulls were everywhere when it came to lunch time, hovering over people to catch a snack. Would recommend the Storm Coaster, alot of fun. Not many people there, so there wasnt a wait time at all. This wasn't the real issue, though. It is 2025-however, discrimination against people in wheelchairs still exists.
We hired a wheelchair for my mother as she is barely able to stand. We decided then to go to the dolphin show- something my mother wanted to see, and as we headed over there we were greeted with accessible seating-which was completely exposed to the elements, right at the bottom with compromised views. The rest of the tiered seating was covered by a roof except the front few rows. The only way for my mother was to stay somewhat dry was to help her up many flights of stairs, to where it was dry. I followed behind her, hauling the wheelchair up, as there was no dry spot on the ground to leave it. I manage to get the wheelchair to the top where I was about to place it out of the way near a fence where no one was walking to. But just before this, I was tapped on the shoulder by an employee who had followed me up the flights of stairs. She then decided to explain to me that I will have to take the wheelchair back down the stairs as it's very presence is a 'fire hazard'. We then had to explain to the employee the situation with my mother which was then met with an 'i don't really care response' and remained firm on me having to put the chair down in the rain with all the strollers, going to the extent for trying to guilt us saying 'everyone is wet, strollers are wet.' This comparison cannot be made as a wheelchair is required for access, where strollers are for ease. You can't exactly carry a fully grown adult with ease up a flight of stairs-unlike a baby. I questioned the employee again, saying exactly where I was going to put it, next to the gate, out of the weather, out of the way, where no foot traffic would go. The employee had no understanding at all, did not care one bit. I then had to take the wheelchair down the stairs again and make a dash to somewhere that there was shelter.
Where is the planning for when wet weather comes? Are you, Seaworld only going to cater for able-bodied people? Are you going to provide a substitute for people who can't get out of their wheelchair to be able to enjoy the park just as much as everyone? You can't control the weather, but you can cater for all. Disappointing. Hopefully you will fix this.

Admission Price (Single Day Pass which will get you into one park) - Adult - $109.00 Children (3-13 years) - $99.00 Pensioners - $99.00 There are tickets available for multiple day passes online. Sea World was a wonderful day. there’s some fantastic shows and really great rides that cater to everyone. Don’t expect to come and not have it be an inexpensive day, especially if you’re with a group of people. We had a group of 5 people (2 adults, 3 kids) and we spent easily $650 for the day after tickets, lunch, snacks, souvenirs). That is just one park. If you are on the Gold Coast for holiday and you go to several parks, you are going to spend a lot of money, even if you get the multi day pass tickets. The food options are great but once again, expensive. We ate at the Top Terrace Cafe because that seemed to be as reasonable in price as we were going to get. The food was delicious 😋. There’s some other options though like Prime Burgers, Pizza 🍕 Shack, the Dockside Bistro and others. You definitely won’t go hungry. There’s quite a few ice cream shops also. For rides, we loved the Vortex and the Leviathan. We loved the Trident also, even if it was more moderate thrill level. You can do activities like the dolphin 🐬 couple adventure where a couple can have a private encounter with the dolphin. It’s extra cost though and quite expensive $699. We looked into it and we were deterred by the price. The shows are fantastic, you can choose from the Seal 🦭 Guardians Presentation, the Affinity Dolphin Presentation, the Little Penguin 🐧 Education Talk, the Penguin Encounter Educational Talk, the Ray Reef feeding, the Polar Bear Educational talk, the Shark 🦈 Baby Educational Talk and my favourite, the Thunder Lake Stunt Show. If you organise your day, you could see if not all, most of the presentations and shows at the park. Also loved the new Illuminated Sea Jellies 🪼 exhibition. It was wonderful. There’s great attractions for the kids also like the SpongeBob and Friends Interactive Show, the Paw Patrol Show and they can meet the Nickelodeon characters. The queues for the rides were not bad because we went in the off season but I have been in the holidays and they can be EXTREMELY long. I would definitely recommend coming in the off season. I was not happy with the fact that the park closes at 6.00pm but the shops/cafes and rides were closing at 5.00pm. Overall, our day was wonderful despite the cost. We came away very happy with some great memories and souvenirs. Would definitely recommend....
Read moreUnprofessional customer service, very rude and unruly staff member. Which I have now lodged a formal complaint regarding an incident that occurred today at the Jet Rescue ride at around 4pm.
Earlier today, my daughter and I purchased a Fast Track pass intending to use it for the Trident ride. However, after scanning our passes, we were informed that the ride was experiencing a malfunction and could not operate. We waited for a considerable time before staff advised us that the ride would not reopen, but that we could redeem our Fast Track pass on any other ride to compensate for the cost.
We then headed to the Storm Coaster ride, but unfortunately, that too had an incident and was unavailable. We finally decided to use our pass on the Jet Rescue ride. However, what we experienced there was completely unacceptable, humiliating, and deeply upsetting for us both.
When we arrived, I explained the situation regarding the Trident ride to the staff member named Hannah, who was managing entry. She acknowledged that she was aware of the Trident issue and told us to wait. We waited for the first group of riders to go through. Afterwards, she told us again that we needed to wait longer. At this point, I tried to explain to her that we had already waited a long time at two different rides and were simply trying to redeem what we paid for.
Her response was extremely rude and unprofessional. She spoke to me loudly and dismissively, saying that I needed to wait because other guests had also paid and were waiting. Further, she stated that she would make me wait even longer because I was “rude” to her. She did indeed make us wait for another round purely out of spite, demonstrating power over us in a humiliating manner. My daughter was very upset and was teary from the embarrassment of being singled out in front of other guests – all because we asked to access the Fast Track service we had paid for.
Additionally, she then told everyone to wait, saying they were waiting for a supervisor. When I asked if I could go to speak with the supervisor directly, she dismissed me rudely, telling me I had to wait there, in an extremely disrespectful tone and manner.
I have sent an email to guest service and happy to share the video recording I took on this invident.
I understand there are operational protocols, but as paying guests who faced two ride closures, we expected understanding and respectful communication, not public humiliation and punishment for simply asking for the service...
