We purchased an accommodation package, spent over $700. They could have done much more. The staff was from one extreme to the other, some treating you like as if you were a bother and some calling you a fake SIR. The food included for our Xmas in July dinner was below worst pub standard. The lunch time meal at "the Caffè" was over priced and not fit for human consumption - $17 for a frozen chicken patty burger and $6.70 for a bottle of water. The bakery which was supposed to be selling the best sausage roll had a 30 min queue, only to get a poor quality product and a freshly wood fired oven soggy meat pie. My advice go for the day it's an interesting place the kids will love it, but bring your own food and drinks. PS The accommodation was good you will get 4...

The souvenir coins at the mint is exciting as you can get the coins with your name, DOB etc done as well. This place you will not regret. So give it a...
Read moreAt Sovereign Hill, you can see a spectacular $160,000 gold pour, venture underground on a fully-guided gold mine tour or catch a horse-drawn coach and tour the town. Go shopping 1850s-style and visit hotels, schools and a theatre with goldfields entertainers. See steam-driven machinery in action and chat with our wheelwrights, candlemakers and confectioners as they ply their trades. On our streets and in our theatre, you will be entertained by costumed goldfields characters who are happy to pose for a great photo.
