Big Gun Wholesale Meats — Attraction in Logan City

Less than half a star review - I have left 2 messages since 11th at 4pm (it is now 13th at 3.10pm) and I have not heard from anyone at Big Gun!

Big Gun Wholesale Meats I have just had (11th aug at 3.55pm) the most disgusting interaction with the young male serving me. He ate while serving me - unknown if he used gloves before putting his hands to his mouth, and serving me. While lecturing me on how much salmon had been sold, he then continued a discussion with another staff member who was standing on my side of the counter. while serving, ripped the product apart (snags) stating "I am too lazy to go and get my knife" so used his nails to pinch the snags apart. It took quite a bit of effort, goodness I owed what else was under his nails. He was not happy when I asked him to cut the product and not rip it (snags). He then used a bag to half pack the next ordered mince, but then used his bare hands to pick up the rest of the mince to make 1.5kg and throw into the bag. When checking out, I asked the cashier for a fresh bag of the mince and he informed the cashier "I can't be bothered to put gloves on to rebag 1.5kg". I left the product behind due to poor hygiene practice, especially when I watched another customer order the same product and their attendant made sure the much larger order was bagged without using bare hands. The cashier was very embarrassed at what he said, and I am disgusted. I have been a long standing customer, but...

I went to this butcher a few weeks ago I purchased over $500 worth of meat beef, chicken, pork first time visiting the butcher. I WILL NEVER BE GOING HERE AGAIN. Worst quality meat I’ve ever purchased. As soon as we got home we put everything in the freezer we only live about 15 minutes away we put it in the car with us not in the boot we also had the climate control on low. As we’ve been defrosting things we’ve noticed that every think smells rotten. As you open the freezer bags the smell of the meat is just disgusting. Looks like I have just purchased $500 worth of dog food. The only thing that doesn’t smell off is the pork sausages they were actually OK. I would advise nobody to go to this butcher. If I could’ve given them no stars I would have. One star is too high for this butcher. I should have only brought a few things to try this place first. more fool...

I am sadly disappointed with my last visit to Big Gun. I have shopped here for my bulk meats for over 30 years and travel quite a distance each time. I was surprised at the very expensive prices compared to previous visits. The prices are actually higher than my local Woolies and the meat quality has plummeted compared to previous purchases. I usually buy whole 't' bone. I noticed that the belly flaps were getting bigger and were nicely tucked away, out of sight, on the trays. I also buy whole rump and sirloin. I found much more fat and skirting latterly. It's amazing how a beautiful cut of meat can hide so much rubbish. The fat in this piece was undetectable while it was in the bag but on slicing it open the fat band ran almost right through the whole piece. Very disappointed and will not bother to...
