The meats were at best, decent. My partner and I decided to patron Shinbashi Yakiniku as we had heard great reviews about the restaurant from our friends. Our friends had also raved greatly about the all-you-can-eat, explicitly sharing that it only happens on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. I also did research on my part to make sure that my partner and I do not make a wasted trip down. It was posted on Shinbashi Yakiniku's Facebook page and on Google that their buffet is on every Monday, Tuesday and Friday, as per our friends word. However, on Monday (19th Oct) when we went to the restaurant, my partner and I were shocked to be told that they had apparently changed their buffet days to Saturdays and Sundays. There was nowhere in the restaurant that showed this information nor anywhere online that states this.

Considering how well-established this restaurant is with a well-managed Facebook page and website, I think the least they can do is to update their customers. I had a neighbouring table who also came to the restaurant for the buffet to only find that they had changed it. Currently, this just feels like a marketing ploy to scam people to patron...

We order Shinbashi's largest platter that was 1.25kg full of Wagyu cuts. We were all satisfied with the variety of cuts that was presented. Hard to pick a favourite as each cut had its own unique taste. Definitely not cheap at $260 but I recommend coming here with a group of 4. They only serve 2 of these platters per day. After finishing this platter we were still hungry. I feel the meat portion is fine as you can't eat too many pieces of fatty beef. I feel if the store added more vegetables to BBQ or complimentary side dishes like kimchi or pickled radishes would help cut down the greasiness of the beef. There's a whole bunch of lettuce underneath the raw beef, which is kind of wasted because no one really wanted to eat that. Customer service was pretty good depending on who serves you. The manager/owner approached our table to check if everything was ok a few times which was appreciated. I'd definitely recommend booking a table as it can get quite busy. I think Shimbashi is...

DON’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. You lost us for good as regular customers. We booked a week in advance for buffet and had a family emergency, was 3 MINUTES late and they wouldn’t take us in. They told us they had a 10 minute policy and that it was on their website when you book however, I have just checked it and no it wasn’t. The real reason the turned us down is because they gave away our table and didn’t want to tell us as the whole place was full so they gave it away. She said their buffet system closed at 1:10pm and to call to let them know if we are running late however, even if we had called to let her know we were late, how does that change anything? Would the buffet setting all the sudden be open to us?

Honesty is best policy. Stop lying- you gave away our table and only wanted to take us in for a la cart. We didn’t eat all day and waited for this buffet AND cancelled work to make this happen. You couldn’t have allowed to make Lee-way of 3 minutes? Thank you for...

I think Shimbashi is worthy trying.

After seeing a number of mouth-watering posts of their amazing wagyu beef on Instagram, we finally decided to try out Shinbashi Yakiniku with a couple of friends to catch up. Because we went on a Friday, they happened to have their $45 ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT deal available (Mon-Tue-Fri only). Shinbashi’s all-you-can-eat menu has a great variety of meat, seafood and side dishes which we really love. Only thing is we wished that they have sashimi like Nonbei but the quality of the meat and seafood here was better. Because they were busy the day we visited, the service was also quite slow and it was difficult to get the attention of the staff to order, which can be annoying given they impose a time limit on the buffet. Overall, still a great spot to catch up with friends that have big appetite if you’re going for their all-you-can-eat. We’ll return to try out their premium higher-grade wagyu beef next time.

Shinbashi Yakiniku is hands down the best BBQ restaurant in Australia. One of its standout features is that you don’t leave smelling like BBQ, so you can go about your day without anyone realising you’ve just enjoyed an epic meal. Thank you, Shinbashi, for consistently delivering top-quality food and outstanding service. I’m always impressed by your wide selection of Wagyu cuts, and the atmosphere makes it feel like dining in Japan. While I don’t drink, I’ve noticed that Shinbashi offers an extensive range of beers, sake, and other beverages to complement the meal. Plus, nothing beats the flavour of charcoal-grilled BBQ – it’s simply next-level. A special thanks to Sharon, who is always so friendly and never fails to brighten our day. The restaurant is quite busy, so better make a reservation first to avoid missing out! If you’re a BBQ lover, Shinbashi Yakiniku in Underwood is a must-visit!
