Not one to write reviews, however just disappointed with the hockey kids that are supposed QLD players that skate there. During games such as witches hats (race for one cone and you move to the next round) they play really dirty, not abiding by rules which, okay they’re kids but it ruins the whole game just like that… not to mention since the beginning of the game, they have already been targeting those i went to Skate Paradise with on the day. By targeting i mean, being sandwiched by at least two if not three of these boys on both my left and right, being so close that i am unable to move freely as it would result in me hitting their skates and possibly resulting in an injury for me or one of them. Another worthy mention would be, before the whistle blows to indicate to the players to start racing for the cone, one of these young hockey boys would block in front of me whilst being sandwiched by the other two, simply making it impossible for me to move. Finally on the last round, there are 4 competitors/players that is to do 2 laps, with the conditions being: Touch every wall whilst going around If there is a slower skater, they get placed slightly forward depending on the floor guards judgement If there is a faster skater of the lot, they then get placed slightly behind the rest of the group to compensate for this (again this being floor guards judgement)
However, two of these hockey boys made it in the final 4 for the big race that everyone gets to watch. With the other two being me and one other person i went with on the day. Whistle was blown and the race was on, i was stoked as i was the one already pushed back for being “too fast” i was catching up to these two boys and touching every wall as the rules mentioned, however, after the first lap they then continued to move away from the wall and cut along the inside of the rink and completely far away from the wall. Final lap and i finally got in-front of them and touched the wall at last and finally grabbing the cone for the win. I then saw both of these boys cut in and ignoring the rules and going straight for the cone and continues to steal the cone and proceeds to win the game.
Now I don’t know the names of these boys but i just think it was very poor sportsmanship on their end knowing that they are some elite skaters who play for QLD hockey. I don’t know if it’s the embarrassment of losing and having that title under their belt or they just really are dirty players. But it ruins everything as a whole, please address this issue, as its bound to happen again to someone else and they might get injured in the process if they give in to the frustration of what these boys are pulling…
Also, general public skaters gets threatened to be kicked out if they were to play tag but these boys were doing it almost all session and being reckless and hitting other skaters...

We have been coming reasonably regular to the Saturday session but probably won't be back.
My daughter brought her skate shoes along that feature two wheels inline on each skate.
First of all, she wasn't allowed because they couldn't guarantee the wheels wouldn't disintegrate and they would be liable for any injury. I then asked why was she was able to bring her traditional roller skates from home which could also do the same. No answer.
Second reason was because they were not skates. Technically they are blades because there are 2 or more wheels inline. See 5.
The manager then comes over.
Third reason because they only have 1 wheel and were Heely's. My daughter then comes over and shows they have 2 wheels. No answer.
Forth reason as they start clutching at straws, is that she will be too slow. I then offer her to demonstrate she can skate as fast, if not faster than the pack but then that reason was renigged. She had after all been keeping up with everyone for the last 40 mins.
At this point the manager resort's to raising her voice at us in front of my daughter because she is running out of issues that don't have flaws in their argument.
The final issue was that they open them up to people bring skateboards in. If someone wears a skate board as a shoe/skate, they will probably look a bit stupid. Maybe a new business venture? Hermmm....
I'm all for rules and boundaries. But when these are not on the conditions of entry at the front door it is a bit unreasonable.
Furthermore, when your only rebuttal to logic and reason it to raise your voice, it does not set a good example to the many children around.
It is ok to admit when you have jumped to conclusions and made a mistake instead of pursuing the sunk cost fallacy.
Perhaps the leaking roof or lack of lighting resulting in at least one child being knocked unconscious could have been a higher priority than upsetting a happy...

Heaps of clean open space, seating and table areas, a small test rink, and did you know Skate Paradise has a diner? The toilets leave a bit to be desired - seats don't fit the toilet bowl! - but apart from the toilets, everything...
