There was maggots in my nieces Food We advise you , we will be taken further ac
Maggots can survive in a wide range of temperatures, from freezing to surprisingly high temperatures. Some species can tolerate temperatures as low as -60°C. While optimal development typically occurs within a specific range (e.g., 25-35°C for some Black Soldier Fly larvae), they can endure temperatures outside this range, especially in the dormant pupal stage.
Here's a more detailed look:
Cold Tolerance:
Freezing Tolerance:
Some maggot species, like the sugarbeet root maggot, can survive freezing temperatures by using mechanisms like supercooling, which allows them to tolerate ice crystals forming within some cells.
Extremely Low Temperatures:
New Scientist reported that dormant maggots have been observed to survive temperatures as low as -60°C.
Soil Depth and Temperature:
Maggots in soil can move to different depths to take advantage of thermal damping, which helps them maintain a more stable temperature.
Heat Tolerance:
Optimal Ranges:
Different species have different optimal temperature ranges for development and activity.
High Temperature Stress:
While some species can tolerate high temperatures, prolonged exposure to temperatures above a certain threshold can be detrimental.
Swarming Maggots:
Swarming maggots can generate heat, and WIRED reported that a mass of maggots can reach temperatures exceeding...
Read moreI'm extremely disappointed with the food quality, customer service, and the lack of care from the staff. Despite a recommendation claiming they had the best charcoal chicken, my experience proved otherwise. We ordered 5-pack chicken wings, half a chicken with chips, and 1 portion of adana. There was no indication of the wait time upon ordering, and it ended up being 50 minutes without any acknowledgment or apology from the staff. During this wait, the Indian/South Asian women working spoke extremely rudely to the Turkish woman in front of customers, belittling her without hesitation. When we finally received our order and returned home, we found the chicken wings were burnt and had a chemical taste, the half sized chicken itself was tough and inedible, resembling leather or tree bark, and the adana had an overwhelming amount of capsicum paste, rendering it barely edible. The rice was tough, and the salad was soggy, so we threw it away and didnt take a photo of it. When I called to complain, the staff confidently defended the poor quality, stating "thats how we make our food", offering no apology or concern. It's no surprise they have 1-star reviews. I recommend going to Baalbek in Slackscreek for better service and value...
Read more"WARNING: WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER" I bought two takeaway whole chickens today and when I got home I was surprised to see the chickens were WITHOUT skin. they look like someone had intentionally removed the skin because they're burnt since other parts are coal black and so as the bread, that's why. so I drove back to return them only to be faced with terrible attitude from the staff and manager and they refused to return it at first. Imagine, they asked me "how are we gonna sell it again after you touched it" I actually only touched the bread that was on top as there's no way to see the chicken underneath without removing the top bread. Hey, they want to resell it hahaha. what would the label be like? "1/2 price second hand skinless chicken"? The manager got angry at me as if it was my fault, it was terrible experience. They rather lose a customer that lose skinless burnt chicken. The only way I was able to convince them is that I told them I like chicken skin. Please see for yourself bellow photos how chicken is advertised on the sign compared to my two chickens. Oh yes not one, but two chicken with...
