Beach House Bar & Grill Browns Plains — Restaurant in Logan City

I had booked 2 months in advance, when I rung 4 weeks prior to my son's 18th birthday there was a ownership change, I went there met owner and paid $1000 Deposit, I spoke to him about me supplying our own tablecloths, table arrangements, the platters we were going to order, as per their website functions, the owner said "no worries i will look after you". The night had arrived, after greeting our guest I spoke with the guy prior with owner, about what platters we were going to order, 4 king tides, 1 Aussie, 4 potato, & 4 buffalo wings, which were supposingly a variety on each platter and enough to feed 4 to 5 people, the head waiter said we had to order starters from the menu, hang on your website has a function menu which you and owner were aware of, the owner came and spoke to me, he took my phone as he didn't know what was on their function menu and wrote whatever, and said " ok I will fix for you" 1 hour later we had 8 mini platters with 6 wings, chips and a garlic bread..I waited patiently for the rest of platters that never came. 2 of my guest left as ordering took too long. After cake it was time to leave and settle Bill, George the owner tried to charge $300 for platters, I disagreed as they were not what I ordered, our dinner tab was $784 he said " we call it even you don't pay anymore, I said no you need to lessen the charge of the platters, at the end of it I got back $106 which was neither here or there as we were prepared to pay top $$$$ for the platters had we got them. Our waitress was awesome, she looked after our guest, she is a asset to this restaurant. I use to love coming to this restaurant for luncheon with family and friends when owned by the previous owner, never again will I step through those doors, had of wished we went to the pub with my 25 guest, we would have got what...

I’ve tried 4 times now to give this place a shot. I keep thinking that the next time it’ll get better. But nope, it never does. The food is bland and overpriced. Some of the ladies who work there are nice, while the others are just plain rude and arrogant. We went last week on a Thursday for dinner. As I went to order at the counter, I asked the lady if the steak was gluten free. (Some meat have gluten and I have a bad reaction to gluten), so she asked the chef and the chef just gave a shrug of his shoulders & gave a dirty look, then he replied that it doesn’t, even though he wasn’t sure. I took his word and ordered a medium. My partner then ordered a steak with chips and salad. 45 minutes later we received our orders and my meat was rare with blood flowing on the plate once I cut into it, and my partner received a handful of chips, which was so stingy. I have never seen a restaurant give this few chips. I did walk up to the counter without the plate as I didn’t want to embarrass the workers and the lady who came over to help even commented on how rare the meat was. I was not after a refund, but once I was at the counter I had another worker snarky say “Well, we don’t replace it. We will just take that meat and cook the rest for you how you want it”. Been to multiple beach houses many different times. I thought let’s recommend it to the parents, have a nice dinner out. It was absolutely disgraceful. When we ordered. We ordered 2 seperate orders. We ordered after my parents. The come to our table and tell us that their machine has messed up and the order for us wasn’t fully complete and they needed to clarify. All good, it happens. 10 minutes later our food comes out. My partner ordered double toppings. They take it, 3 staff members basically argue with each other that it’s rught, it’s wrong! Bring it back and say it’s right, if you didn’t there be a lot less.

I finished my meal, my parents food still hasn’t shown up?? When we got the attention of a very pushy waitress, she says oh I’ll go check. Doesn’t come back. Someone else does. Oh there was a mix up. What was the order again. Our printer doesn’t work.

Another 10 minutes by this time my dad is fuming. Comes back with the food. My dad hates salad with a passion specifically asked for no salad. Well hello salad, dressing run through the chips.

All we were offered were a drink, no manger comes to talk to us, nothing. Highly disappointed, the poor boy that had to talk to us you could tell he was forced because the manager didn’t have the balls and was hiding behind the bar and didn’t want to take the responsibility of his job title.
