Perhaps a little overstated on their website...see below...still worth a visit, these markets will continue to evolve until they hit the sweet spot.
Located a modest 40min walk north of Melbourne CBD or a short tram ride #11, in an old disused Mill which is now a carpark when the Market is not open on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm.
The market, which has been open since Nov 2017, and set up by 3 siblings, is quite interesting and great of itself, but in essence I rate it ALSO 5 star because of the Wall Murals. Visiting these has become very popular around the world, and the ones at and around the Old Mills are not just the usual boring swirls of graffiti. These are quite a good attempt at real modern art. Some of it is commissioned, and may change on a regular basis. The below is sourced from Google and the Markets website

This weekly Saturday market is housed in the iconic Fitzroy Mills, on Rose Street. Parking at top and easily accessible by public transport along Brunswick Street. There’s a good café across the road that’s always busy and a couple of other good places heading west along Rose St if you want a bit there - although there are tables and a couple of food truck type stalls at the market itself. You also have the plethora of eating houses along Brunswick Street anyway.
Whilst you’re there, check out Rose St pantry and the artists market. Both are always fabulous. You could spend a while morning along this stretch of Rose Street with the Fitzroy Mills Market. Ring...
Read moreLocated on Rose Street, Fitzroy, almost midway between Nicolson and Brunswick Streets. They are two markets, the Fitzroy Market and the Fitzroy Mills Market (Saturday only), operating from the one location. The markets are set up in the Fitzroy Mills carpark and are partly in the open and partly undercover.
The area is predominately filled with used and vintage clothing stalls, however on Saturdays they also have a local growers/farmers market, with stalls selling local, organic and sustainable food. If you are in the area on the weekend it is worth wandering through - who knows what you...
