Northland Shopping Centre: A Leisurely Stroll Through Retail Purgatory Northland Shopping Centre. A sprawling, single-level behemoth of consumerism in Melbourne's north. It's a place where time seems to slow down, not in a good way, like a lazy Sunday afternoon, but more like a fly stuck in honey. It's a place where shoppers meander with the urgency of sloths on sedatives, seemingly oblivious to the world around them. Now, I'm all for a relaxed shopping experience, but the pace at Northland pushes the boundaries of leisurely to the realm of glacial. It's like everyone is participating in a collective slow-motion performance art piece, a tribute to the art of doing absolutely nothing at an excruciatingly slow pace. And it's not just the speed, or lack thereof, it's the complete lack of awareness. People wander aimlessly, eyes glazed over, bumping into each other with the nonchalance of bumper cars. They stop dead in their tracks to ponder the intricacies of a sock display, oblivious to the growing queue of frustrated shoppers behind them. It's a place where spatial awareness goes to die. You'll witness the classic Northland shuffle: a slow, meandering gait, often accompanied by a vacant stare and a phone clutched in one hand. It's a hypnotic dance of obliviousness, a symphony of shuffling feet and murmured conversations. But amidst the chaos of slow-moving bodies, there's a strange charm to Northland. It's like a microcosm of society, a melting pot of humanity where all walks of life converge to engage in the ritual of retail therapy. You'll see teenagers glued to their phones, elderly couples enjoying a leisurely coffee, and families navigating the maze of shops with varying degrees of success. And despite the frustrating lack of urgency, there's a certain comfort in the predictability of it all. You know that no matter what day of the week you visit, you'll be greeted by the same slow-moving crowds, the same vacant stares, and the same sense of being trapped in a time warp. So, if you're looking for a shopping experience that's both relaxing and mildly infuriating, Northland is the place for you. Just be prepared to embrace the slow pace, the lack of personal space, and the constant threat of being trampled by a rogue shopping trolley. And maybe bring a book to read while you wait for the person in front of you to decide which shade of lipstick to buy. After all, you've got all the time in the world at Northland.
2024 Update: Scratch everything I said about the shops, the REAL danger at Northland is the car park. Apparently, obtaining a driver's license in Preston involves throwing darts at a map while blindfolded. Indicators? Optional. Reverse parking? Forget it. People here will happily circle for 20 minutes waiting for a spot close to the entrance, rather than park in the abundance of spaces further away, then walk – the horror! Seriously, invest in some good car insurance before visiting. You have...

On 1th of Agust 2023, I visited FOREVER NEW store and noticed several products displayed with red stickers, indicating a markdown in prices. Additionally, there were signs promoting a "Take a further 30% Off" sale. However, upon reaching the register to make my purchase, I was informed that the items would be charged at their full price or only the red sticker price would be offered. Also this experience happened for me on 24 July 2023 and I must admit that my most recent encounter with your customer service has left me feeling disappointed. The incident occurred when I came across an item I had been eyeing, which was labeled with an extra 20% discount. Excited about the prospect of purchasing it at a discounted rate, I approached one of your staff members to avail of the offer.
Unfortunately, the lady I spoke with refused to honor the advertised discount, stating that it was not applicable to the item I had chosen. As a result, I reluctantly purchased the item without the promised discount. This left me feeling dissatisfied and questioning the consistency of your promotional offers and customer service standards.
I am disappointed by this misleading pricing and sales practice, as it creates a false impression of significant discounts, only to be contradicted at the point of purchase. This situation not only caused frustration but also raised concerns about the transparency and honesty of the pricing strategies employed at the store.
I believe it is essential for customers to have a positive shopping experience and to feel confident in the pricing integrity of the products they wish to purchase. I kindly request that you thoroughly investigate this matter and take appropriate measures to rectify...
