This place is highly disappointing. Today we visited the Studley Park Boathouse for my brothers 18th birthday for a group of 23 people. When booking over the phone everything was all good for a booking at 12pm. However, the day before we arrived we received a call telling us that we had to be out of the venue by 2pm, we were not impressed as this meant we were going to have to rush our entire dining experience. We then moved our dining experience to 11:30am and when we arrived at this time in which we gave them an ample 24 hours ahead in advance to let them know, they were unable to seat us as they had not finished setting the table and/or putting all the chairs in the correct spots. By the time we were actually seated we should've just kept our original time of 12pm. By the time we sat down and ordered drinks it took us 45 minutes to receive our drinks. We even walked up to the bar to possibly start a tab as the wait for the drinks was so long to be told to sit back down and that they only operate as a table service. By the time we received our drinks the food came out as well. Another disappointing experience. Amongst the group 6 of us ordered the Studley House Burger all of which were cold, salads with no salad dressing and small servings of the fish, in which was pure batter. The overall experience of the food was bland and dry. Not only this, but for the last hour in which we were still eating every ten minutes we had wait staff coming up to us telling we had a certain amount of minutes left until we had to leave. If we had known this was the case we would have definitely sourced another venue. The overall atmosphere was also extremely warm. We had to approach three different waiters to get the windows open and it is just appalling that it took that many people to approach to do a simple task such as opening the window. The only redeeming factors was the waitress in which greeted and looked after us was extremely kind considering the circumstances of being understaffed and the view from the building itself. However, the dining experience would not be worth it, just take a picnic and sit by the base of the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at the Studley Park Boathouse, and I must say, it was an experience to remember. The restaurant's location, nestled by the lakeside, provided an absolutely amazing view that added a touch of tranquility to the entire dining experience.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff who made me feel right at home. Their attentiveness and professionalism were truly commendable. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, the staff managed to keep everything organized and running smoothly.
One thing that stood out to me was the short waiting time to be seated. It was refreshing to see that the restaurant had an efficient system in place to accommodate its guests promptly. This allowed me to start enjoying the beautiful surroundings and soak in the atmosphere without any unnecessary delays.
When it came to the food, I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable amount of time it took for our meals to arrive. The waitstaff ensured that our orders were promptly taken and the kitchen worked efficiently to deliver our food in a timely manner. This allowed us to enjoy our meals without feeling rushed.
Speaking of the food, the portions were incredibly generous. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The variety on the menu catered to different tastes, and there was something for everyone. However, the only downside was that the chicken schnitzel had a burnt crumb, which was a minor disappointment (as you can see in the picture).
Overall, my experience at the Studley Park Boathouse was exceptional. The lakeside view, friendly staff, and efficient service created a memorable dining experience. Despite the small hiccup with the chicken schnitzel, the restaurant's overall quality and attention to detail were impressive. I would highly recommend visiting this establishment for a delightful meal with a stunning view.
PS: I changed my rating to 5 stars 🌟 after your professional approach and lovely reply. Happy to be...
Read moreSpent the recent mother’s day at Studley Park Boathouse with the family. The outdoor is a multi levelled dining area overlooking the river. All tables have individual umbrellas and the mid level dining area have heaters attached on the umbrellas. Where we were seated was in the bottom level with long tables, close to the boat access and river off course which was very nice, but the umbrellas on this level do not have heaters.
The bottom level is also good for big groups as each sections have 3 long tables which can accommodate 8 people each table. A bit squishy if you come with a pram and no ramp but the waiter was nice to help us carry it down from top to bottom level. Thank you!
Weather was cold and spitting but still alright, not recommending when raining as the umbrellas are right next to each other meaning water rolling down from it goes to the people next tables and vice versa.
View was nice specially seeing people paddling their boats, we had pets with us and reminder to bring your own water bowls for them as they are not provided.
We had brunch and lunch meals serves at 11am so if you are booked before 11am lunch menus are not available. Ordering is via QR code on the table. Service was fast and simultaneous so we all enjoyed our meals at the same time. Food was great and served hot.
Waiters were very attentive and one person in the counter went out of his way to find us candle for our birthday cake but turn out that they ran out. Thank you anyway. Price wise is reasonable and parking can be difficult specially during weekends.
This restaurant is within the Studley park that has picnic tables and public toilets. There is a nearby suspension bridge to cross to Yarra Bend park and more picnic table and bbq areas. All together can go for a big walk and fishing by the river near the kayak launch where we set up our camping chairs and picnic mats to spend...
