@conventbakery 📍Abbotsford ➖ Chilli Scrambled Eggs ➖ Avocado Smash Abbotsford Convent is now a dynamic cultural precinct near Collingwood Children’s Farm. The Convent Bakery, rich in heritage, offers iconic baked goods and Weekend Bread classes using 1901 wood-fired ovens. The bakery serves breakfast, lunch, and on-site roasted, fair-trade, organic coffee. ⛪️ I would have loved the Chilli Scramble to feature more chilli, only finding the fresh chilli on top. The Avocado Smash was fresh. The bread was very, very tough and made it hard to eat and cut through. Both dishes were presented beautifully with edible flowers, but lacked anything standout. With a large, leafy outdoor dining area, it’s a nice spot to dine in the warmer months. Directly nearby is mostly only paid parking, so snag a park on Clarke Street if you can! 🍃 ⭐️ 3/5 💸 $$

This place is absolutely beautiful and having a little farmers market fair is even better. I stumbled across this event so I’m not sure if it’s a weekly, monthly or once in a while event! The outdoor area of the Convent bakery is where we parked ourselves. Plenty of pups everywhere with their owners. Food and bakery was amazing however our first order was a stuff up and given the wrong sandwich. Our friends came along, ordered again and got a number, only to have one of the wait staff removed our number before asking. This was done sneakily as no one knew our table number was taken away. Thus making us wait for our food for ages until I noticed we didn’t have a table number and has to into the cafe to ask! Apart from that, the guy at the till was super friendly and the bakery options weee great!

Great pies - but honestly, if we order dine in, and they take 20-30 minutes to come out - but have clearly been simply removed from a bain marie or whatever - you should at least have reheated these in the oven in that time. So while the pies have great potential, given the wait for two lukewarm ones with almost no cripsy/hardened top or crist, paired with mininal sauce is a letdown. We had plenty of time to observe meals being served to other tables (pizzas and breakfast plates look great), so we'll return. But if ordering pies, get takeaway and put in the oven at home.

Convent Bakery is a hidden gem, known for its exceptional bread, sandwich and coffee. The freshly baked focaccia has a perfect balance of crispy crust and soft, airy interior, offering an unforgettable flavor with every bite. Paired with their expertly brewed coffee, the combination creates a delightful experience that elevates both the bread and the coffee. The cozy, peaceful atmosphere adds to the charm, making it feel like a mini escape from the hustle and bustle. Convent Bakery is truly a place you’ll want to return to again and again.
