As soon as we saw the open paddock with the picturesque backdrop of Australian trees and the beautiful barn, we knew immediately this venue was the one for us. (Unfortunately, it ended up raining for most of our wedding day, but the ceremony was moved to the quaint stable as the wet weather option.)
The venue's wedding coordinator, Alice, was incredible throughout the process and so prompt at answering all our emails. We really appreciate Alice and the team keeping the process so seamless and easy for us.
Our guests were impressed with the quality of the food, and the venue was amazing with accommodating our guests' dietary requirements.
We opted for an add-on of guinea pig cuddles, which proved a big hit with our guests. The farm's resident peacock also stole the limelight as it screeched throughout the speeches.
The venue staff also set up the cozy fire pit, and everyone had a great time roasting marshmallows around it.

Collingwood Children's Farm was the perfect location for our celebration. It truly felt like a beautiful slice of the countryside, which resonated deeply with both of us. Despite its peaceful and natural atmosphere, it was also incredibly accessible for our city-based guests â the best of both worlds! The barn itself was simply stunning and provided the most wonderful backdrop for our ceremony and reception.
Beyond the beautiful venue, the food provided by The Farm Cafe was an absolute standout. Our guests haven't stopped raving about how delicious everything was!    Read moreThe Farm CafĂ© in Abbotsford is a bit of a mixed bagâthink of it as a beautiful country picnic where the scenery is stunning, the food is top-notch, but the ants are really getting on your nerves.
Letâs start with the good stuff: the food is seriously excellent. Fresh, flavorful, and made with care, itâs the kind of meal that makes you feel like youâve made a great life choice by coming here. Whether itâs breakfast, brunch, or lunch, every dish is a winner. The coffee? Absolutely on pointârich, smooth, and just what you need to start your day.
Now, onto the not-so-great bits. The water service was, letâs say, memorable for all the wrong reasons. Getting a glass of water here feels like a Herculean task, and when it finally arrives, itâs almost an afterthought. Itâs like theyâve put all their love into the food and forgotten that hydration is also kind of important.
And then thereâs the wait in line, which could generously be described as less than accommodating. Youâll find yourself questioning your patience and possibly your life choices as you wait to be seated, only to be greeted with a level of service thatâs⊠well, letâs just say, theyâre not going out of their way to apologize for it.
But, despite all that, the food is good enough to make you overlook the flawsâat least a little. If youâre willing to deal with some attitude and a less-than-stellar water situation, youâre in for a delicious meal in a lovely setting.
So, The Farm CafĂ©: amazing food, so-so service. 7/10 would recommendâjust bring your own water and a bit...
