Absolutely wonderful experience.

My partner and I came in at around 4pm for an early dinner/late lunch on our way home from the city, we both don't have much money and saw the great prices Meat & Dumpling had to offer. Once we walked in, we were greeted by Lina, who offered us an amazing service which would warrant 5 stars on it's own. We sat down and looked at the menue filled with interesting and tasty options. We were greatfull to see a nice selection of vegetarian options due to my partner's dietary requirements. Once we were ready to order, Lina told us about the self serve bubble tea option, which excited us greatly. Lina went far and beyond with taking our order and even let my partner seal their own bubble tea, which was such a kind act that we were both so grateful for. Once our food came out we were in awe of how good our meals looked, smelt; and of course, tasted! I haven't had chicken ribs that tasted this good in years. Lina would check in on us, both offering great conversation and just in general making sure we were happy, without being imposing at all. After finishing our meals, once again we were met with Lina's lovely personality as we paid and said our goodbyes, confidently saying that we would be back!

All in all, great service, a homie cozy feel, and amazing food; without a doubt, 5/5 and a must try for anyone in Belgrave or beyond looking for a great well...

I was staying in The Patch, and travelled to Belgrave cause I was craving Chinese food. I found this place via google, and the reviews were very high. Here are my pros and cons.

Pros: The food really is great. Had the chicken ribs, seasonal veggies, steamed dumplings and rice. The chicken ribs were probably my favourite, followed by the seasonal veggies and then the steamed dumplings. I've had juicier dumplings before, so unfortunately the dumplings were just okay. The server gave us heaps of rice, which was nice. Also, we got a cup of bubble cup. And the owner gave us a second serving for free cause she took a liking to our son. So nice! Really unique interior. There's these shelves full of toys and plush dolls, and mini arcade machines, and even a section with fashion accessories for sales. Never seen anything like it before, overall more interesting then anything.

Cons. On the Sunday night there seemed to be just one worker meaning our order took a bit longer than what we might expect back home in our suburban area. It's kind of dark inside. When we walked in we were confused if it was open or closing cause it was dim. The high chair could be cleane.

Overall the food really did impress, which is the main thing. Everything else were minor critiques.

I felt the owner was working very hard by herself and I only felt respect for her. I will support...

Update...I do not appreciate the reply I received...I only review/ comment on extreme experiences... good and bad..So your assumptions re my ability to review yours because I dont review many dumpling places is ridiculous.... You guys really need to up your game...customer service is key to success..insulting customers because you don't like what they write wont get more people in the door. Anybody looking for an honest review please read the reply. As for the bubble tea I'm confused... you have to ask for additionals to make it actually bubble tea??? Obviously this is a communication issue it wasn't made clear at all. Definately wont be recommending in future which is a real shame.

I thought , I feel like dumplings. Newish place in Belgrave give it a shot. Service was pretty quick the restruant clean and decore good. I ordered mango bubble tea and two serves of vegetarian dumplings to take away. Well ...The dumplings were thick and tough and no bubble tea just plain mango milk drink! Maybe and hopefully this was just a bad day but have to say I was disappointed. The cost was close to $40 for two serves of dumplings and the drink..but that isnt the problem. I'm happy to pay top dollar for great food. At this stage we wont be back. I do hope this helps improve things...

After an exhilarating visit to the nearby Tree Top Adventure, we chanced upon this charming Chinese restaurant, eager to refuel. Living in Singapore, growing up as a fan of Chinese food, this experience at Meat & Dumpling exceeded our expectations in every way. The authenticity of the Chinese food was evident from the first bite. We started with the boiled dumplings, which were perfectly crafted and deliciously flavorful. The black vinegar and chilli oil were a must have in all our dumplings which this placed had too. The tofu dish had just the right amount of spice, blending harmoniously with the steamed rice to create a satisfying meal. The fried squid were tender and well fried! One of the added conveniences was the availability of roadside parking, making our visit hassle-free. Overall, this restaurant is a gem, offering a delightful culinary experience that complements a day of adventure. Highly recommended!

Nice food and my kids love the spicy fish (soup). Beef curry dumpling is nice with peanut sauce. Portions of food are big and good for sharing. However, i checked my bill when i m back to my stay, i noticed i was charged twice for peanut sauce, 1 for beef curry dumpling and 1 for pumpkin dumpling. Our pumpkin dumpling does not come with sauce. Is $3+1.9% service charge but menu indicated $2 for sauce instead of $3. Maybe they forgot to amend the price on the memu. Only feel sad that i was overcharged for the peanut sauce as it is not cheap, else we are happy with the service.
