Belliful of Bliss — Restaurant in Melbourne

This is the second time we went to this café, we ordered sharing board for both visits. The first time we were sit outside the food was generous and delicious. We even got a muffin from sharing board for desert. Because we quite enjoy our first visit, we went back again today, but the experience this time was totally different. We ordered exactly the same. The sharing board came with much less variety food. All our bacon burnt, only 5 slices of sausage all burnt, half avocado without sliced and I cannot even believe when I saw it was rotted, 4 eggs all overly cooked. I talked them they replaced rotted avocado and cooked another 2-3 sliced bacon for us. There was an issue with their range-hood, it seems not working, the whole room cover with cooking smoke, our clothes smells very bad even after we got home. The lady who did the cooking really need to pay more attention on food safety. She was on the phone the whole time during the cooking, used her bare hands to put food on the plates without gloves. She went outside to smoke came back without wash her hands and cooking again. Every time after she put food on the plate she wiped her fingers on her pants. Big mistake this time, we will never back again.

Response to the owner's response: I understood it is very hard for small business but still you have to control your food quality and pay attention to your food safety. This place was highly rated by family as a great place to eat, especially for the bacon and egg rolls. It must have been a bad day or the normal staff had a day off. After a confusing ordering process where a bacon and egg roll is quite different to a bacon and egg burger, and asking for a large latte in a takeaway cup (so you can take it with you after youve eaten) seemed unusual, we went outside to our tables. I say tables because the first small table was very loose and rickety, being obvious your coffee would spill. So we moved tables to find the next table was just as unstable. Third table, that didnt match the others, had a solid top but needed something under a leg to stop it rocking. A quick investigation showed that the tightening of a few screws and a nut would have resolved the see-saw tables.

The coffees came out in a cup, exactly what I requested didnt happen. So it had to be drunk or left unfinished. The coffee was very good and large was large.

The roll took ages to come out, fell apart, had to be eaten in pieces with a knife and fork, and sadly wasnt the dream B&E roll we'd been promised. It was a large roll with a lot of ingredients, but was slapped together and fell apart as soon as it was picked up.

Over $40 for 2 rolls and 2 coffees, bad furniture, no atmosphere, we could have gone to Maccas and done better.

First of all, best bacon and egg rolls in the hills, nothing even comes close. I've seen a lot of owners come and go through this place, and the new team here are the best by far. Amazing service with a smile. Plenty of space to sit, out the front, inside and a nice little area out the back. Looking forward to coming back and trying a few other things out.
