The girl with the pointy face, brunette ponytail and the constant scowl really needs to change her attitude. Sheâs been like this since she started the job, and she seems to work a lot of shifts for someone that obviously hates being there! Iâve heard other customers ask her âHave we upset you? Whatâs wrong with you, you look so miserableâ. Has she ever smiled, seriously EVER? I wouldnât recognise her if she did! I feel like every time Iâm served by her, that Iâve done something wrong, as sheâs constantly giving me the âEye Daggersâ. I feel like every coffee I drink, Iâm actually drinking her misery and sadness. Why is she acting so Defiant?! Who hurt you? Obviously sheâs gone through some kind of trauma, and I truly feel for her, but this job is not for her, and the owner needs to do what is obviously required. She needs to find a job that doesnât require warmth and lovely customer service skills. Itâs actually painful just walking in there. I couldnât imagine walking into a lovely Tuscan Patisserie and encountering this attitude, she wouldnât last five minutes!
Having said that, the food is great! Try the Buffalo Mozzarella Wrap, damn...
Read moreWhen you desire a traditional Italian cake or savoury food you may automatically think of the Carlton/Brunswick/Coburg areas. Belgrave Bakery serves the best of traditional savoury and sweets to appeal to all likes. I called in specifically to feed my coffee fix and requested a Sfogliatella, a typical sweet pastry from Neapolitan cuisine. The host, Fabio, originally from the Ile of Capri (what a place to come from) knows the traditional recipe and presented me with a Sfogliatella hot from the oven. Perfection. Suddenly I was back in Napoli. Plenty of culinary choices to choose from and plenty of seating available. Friendly staff happy to serve makes this Bakery a must pit stop. Highly...
Read moreMy partner and I ordered a shepherds pie and sausage roll and went to the counter to pay. When I asked for our food, I was directed to the other counter to collect it. Itâs disappointing that this young generation lacks manners. We sat outside to eat and my partner noticed a piece of hair in the pie. He took it out, placed it on the paper, and continued to eat. However, he found it wasnât fresh and offered me a bite, which I agreed to. I also noticed that my sausage roll wasnât fresh and made my tongue feel greasy. I had to eat a lolly pop to get rid of the taste. Itâs very disappointing that the food wasnât fresh, and we certainly wonât be returning...
