Really disappointed in this clinic. Feel like they’ve palmed us off! This has been a really stressful time for all of us and we have done everything they told us to do but her skin was getting worse! Our first consult was great because we finally thought we could manage this and the dermatologist was confident this could be managed too. Our poor Roxy has been through hell, she’s put on so much weight and lethargic. It didn’t feel right pumping her with all these drugs but we did what they told us to do. I couldn’t get a appointment to see anyone as they were away at a conference so went to 3 different vets for help with this huge cyst that was on her back that was causing her so much pain. Her skin was so sensitive and sore as well but told by dermatologist to get a script for a steroid cream when she’s already on a steroid, she needed antibiotics! The dermatologist had all the info and we were just getting mucked around by the vets! I was told I would get a call back but it’s been 14 days now and still nothing. We feel very let down and have now found a vet who is helping Roxy and hopefully we can get this managed. Roxy is still on her medication but tapering slowly off them all, her skin was so dry, cracked and thinning out from the steroids. We have now changed her diet to Lyka, added a probiotic and omega 3. No more harsh shampoos or conditioners. Just a diluted QV baby bath oil wipe down daily to keep her clean and her skin moist. We have seen a big difference in Roxys skin, mood already and hair regrowth. It got to the point where the vet told us that this was up to us now and we did our research. Makes sense though, heal from the inside. For a dermatologist with a bachelors in dietics and nutrition I thought this would have been mentioned? Hopefully this might help someone else who’s going through the same thing. Ask lots of questions and do a lot of research too.

Our shitzu x lhaso apso (nearly 5) Previous symptoms: about 2-3 years ago he started his skin problem journey. He’s experienced hot spots, skin rashes, dry skin like dandruff, very itchy, musky eyes & ear infections. I’ve tried numerous online products, shampoos, restricting his favorite foods, and eventually followed our vets advice with ear drops & monthly cytopoint injections. He had a little relief but not enough, he was still unhappy with the same symptoms. So I was recommended Dr Mandy at Animal Dermatology clinic from another vet & so we went to the Murdoch clinic at the start of May 2024. They put him on antibiotics, eardops & another allergy tablet called Apoquel & asked me to do a weekly wash with medicated shampoo. A month later he’s almost cured. He’s so happy and is not itchy anymore & the dandruff has gone completely. We’re so pleased. The ladies were so lovely too, thank you. We will continue with the weekly washes, daily allergy tablet & weekly eardrops. All in all I highly recommend their services.

Murdoch Dermatology looked after my girl for the length of her life - from 2 years of age. They were flexible with their appointments, allowing me to purchase the allergy serum easily and quickly when I ran out. They were always kind and helpful. She would not have been as comfortable if it weren't for them. My Briarleigh passed away in 2021, and they sent me a condolence card, which was a beautiful reminder that they cared for her as well.

As soon as our dog, Ruby, joined our family as a pup, she was distressed with itching. At the time, not knowing this, we thought she was experiencing behavioural issues. Her biting and mood changes were very stressful for the whole family. Luckily, we had a very good vet, who referred us to Dr Mandy Burrows, and the rest is history...

Put simply, Dr Mandy has transformed all our lives. A rock of advice and support, she takes the time to empower you, as an owner, with the knowledge and treatment options to best suit your pet’s needs.

I’m grateful to have both Dr Mandy and her incredible team in our lives. Always in the background, they have ‘rescued’ us in times of need. What sets her apart, too, is Dr Mandy’s holistic approach.

We feel indebted to Dr Mandy for giving us a happy, loving dog. No superlatives are strong enough to describe both her and her...
