We placed our very simple order and then sat outside to wait for our food and drinks. Our coffee and tea arrived fairly quickly. The same cannot be said about the food. My toasted sandwich arrived after approximately 15 minutes - I had just exclaimed saying "just how long does it take to get a toasted sandwich" when it arrived. I said to the waitress that we were also waiting on an order of artisan toast and jam. She said ok and left our table letter with us. After at least another 10 minutes, the toast had still not arrived. My husband went to the counter to ask of it's whereabouts only to be told that they had forgotten it. They apologized and got it underway. Eventually, the toast & jam arrived, with 2 Pat's of butter and a pot of jam but no cutlery. Apparently, one is expected to know that you are to get the cutlery yourself from inside! Huh!! A little mention after placing the order would be helpful! My husband took the lid off the butter pat and it was liquid! Yes, he could pour it onto his toast - no knife required!! This was totally unacceptable so he returned the food to the counter for a refund. He received an apology and his refund but, with food and hygiene standards as back as this, we won't be recommending this cafe nor eating there again. We will be going to the Coffee...
Read moreOrdered a Smashed Avo with a poached egg this morning. Staff where nice. Atmosphere was nice though a bit cold with the side door open and metal chairs. The food however is where you really lost stars. This was the most bland smashed avo I have ever eaten. The avocado looks to be a store bought spread rather than fresh avocado and very lightly added to the bread, the feta had next to no taste to it even when tasted separately, and there was only a light dusting of dukkah which was barely noticeable. All together the meal was very disappointing, the only thing I was happy with was the perfectly poached egg. Your a café sounded by other cafe's selling the exact same thing as you and doing a better job... this might explain why it was so empty in your dinning aria. I would suggest revisiting you menu (and your taste buds), changing it up so you are providing something that only you can do, that you do amazingly! You don't need to copy Coffee Club's menu, I came to you establishment to avoid the generic...
Read morePopped in for lunch after taking my mother in law to visit her doctor. Ordered a pre-made sandwich which had a soggy roll. After complaining, the manager said they usually toast it to avoid this. But who wants your salad in the sandwich toasted? I suggest they don't make the sandwiches ahead of time or add the condiments after it's ordered then you won't get soggy bread. We also had salt and pepper squid with chips....also disappointing. The squid was covered in a heavy batter....not the light dusting of breadcrumbs you'd expect. Made the squid overcooked. And the chips? Cold and soggy just like bread in the sandwich....
