Kissing Point sits at the top of Jezzine Barracks and offers wonderful views across the Townsville region. There are great walking tracks throughout the area with little pockets of history through signage, preserved monuments and art pieces. There are pathways to allow for pram and wheelchair access as well.

At nighttime, the pathways vary in terms of light coverage with the main walkways/stairs and paths lit, whereas others are missed. Toilets are located towards the bottom, not too far from the kids playground. Great area for families as well with BBQ facilities, undercover tables and...

A nice easy track that takes minutes. The fort is a sad reminder of the time when arguments between nations where settled by force. The actual fort has 2 300mm guns, previously on turrents. The support chambers underneath are still there but locked off - maybe you can arrange a visit? Plaques for the many pointless dead from the community of Townsville. American & Australian flags fly. Make of that...

It's a great memorial dedicated to the diggers of townsville before, during & after the ww2. It describes what moves the allies made to counteract the enemy. Very interesting, well...

Two ways to climb that point, stairs and rough terrain, its fun and adventurous, photogenic beauty, history engraved all over the place, nice place for bike riding and climbing through stairs. Dog friendly place, kids friendly, little risky shore with crabs in it. Rest everything was fine.

Definitely worth having a walk around if you're visiting The Strand. Many info boards etc. The place is beautifully kept. The views across over to Magnetic Island are also gorgeous. We spotted several turtles. Was also exciting to see a Yellow Spotted Monitor (Goanna) whilst there.
