FISH n CHIP Delights — Restaurant in North Ward

Don't like the lack of customer engagement. I went in to buy a drink but was not even acknowledged for a little bit.

not very welcoming, sub par customer service unfortunately.

Edit and to top off this delightful little experience is the troll owner trying to save their reputation. let's clarify...

I went into buy a drink. I waited a good 5 minutes to be acknowledged. The two people stood near a fryer out the back in plain view. then one came over and looked at me like I was stupid while I waited for her to ring my drink up. No hello. No have a good day. no decent customer service at all, she just stood there and I pointed to my drink and said just this.

definitely do not recommend and now I have changed from 2 stars down to 1 cos the owner...

I've stepped straight into the 1980s with polite and friendly service and a homely feeling with the tv on we sit on the bench as regulars stop by to get their usual.

The unflustered but tired twentyish girl confirms the vital details. Chicken salt, types of sauce, battered or crumbed fish and confirms pineapple is indeed on The Lot.

Minutes later she's apologises for calling the wrong number and gives us our burgers and scallops.

In the hotel, 3 potato scallops not good enough, they had to pop in an extra one for free. Cheese and beetroot on the fish burger makes it delicious. The lot is more of a tower. Extra bacon, laden with cheese and a thick pattie. The best fast food in Townsville. Back to the future for these delights, but...

I usually go elsewhere close by, but decide to give this place ago. Everytime I drive pass it's busy and it has some great reviews.

Unfortunately the food wasn't good. The staff were very friendly but the food just wasn't something to rave about. I ordered the crumbed barramundi, which I found slimy and the meet darker than usual and didn't have much taste to it. The scallops were very oily and just way to much batter. The crumbed calamari rings where nice.

Usually with any other fish and chip shop your get lemon. I didn't get lemon or even asked if I want a napkin or knife and fork.

I'm sure it was a one off and I was unlucky. They did have burgers or steak sandwich maybe I'll try that next time and just get my usual...
