Catalina Park — Attraction in Sydney

As far as race tracks go this would be one of the more mediocre. The track is very narrow in parts and I doubt a normal size touring car would fit through in some places. The surface is covered with debris and there is a creek running across the track about half way round. For some reason they let people walk their dogs on the race track which is very dangerous for all involved. The pit facilities are poor and spectators would find it difficult to get a view of the cars through the dense bush that surrounds the raceway. I would recommend Oran Park as an alternative. What a lovely hidden little place to ride your bike or have a quiet walk in an accessible place. Fantastic to take children for a bike ride or scooter and plenty of space for everyone to go for a bike ride in a long undisturbed and fun long old raceway. The parking is in 1 location : either park at the pool or somewhere on Catalina Avenue or around the corner where the water round is but there are a few steps to get up to level and you have to walk around the pond to get to the raceway. Great place to just walk around the track with your family and see all the history that is there. The only down fall about the place is that there should be signs up for the non locals warning them about brown snakes in the area. My 5 year old son stepped on a baby 40cm one that was sun baking on the track that we didn't see. It went to strike him before my wife grabbed him.
